Converting the machine to side ejection (Illustration R3 )
Pos: 18.18 /Innenteil/Mähbetrieb/Umbau als Seitenauswurfmäher Text @ 38\mod_1439905860440_1521.docx @ 409726 @ @ 1
Stop the engine and remove the spark plug.
Remove the cover plate (1) from the right-hand side of the housing.
To do this loosen the two self-locking nuts (2) and pull the washers (3) off, pull the
two flat round screws (4) out from the inside (cutting space) and remove the cover
plate.
The mulching blade system does not have to be converted.
For the equipment to be used as a mulching machine again, the cover plate (1) must be
replaced.
IMPORTANT
Before fitting the cover plate, clean the channel and remove remaining grass and
dirt from the insider in order to ensure that the plate can be firmly and correctly
seated.
Insert the cover plate into the housing from the inside in such a way that the two bore
holes in the cover plate are aligned with the bore holes in the housing. Insert the two flat
round screws (4) into the bore holes from the inside (cutting space), put the washers (3)
in place and tighten using the two self-locking nuts (2).
WARNING
Never use the equipment with the deflector damaged or missing.
Always work with the deflector closed (folded downwards) even when the
machine has been converted for mulching.

IMPORTANT
During cleaning and maintenance work do not place the mower on its side, tilt it
forwards instead O (spark plug facing upwards) as otherwise start-up difficulties
could occur. Secure the mower in its raised position!
NOTE
When tilting the mower upwards, make sure no oil or petrol escapes. Fire hazard!
Remove dirt and residual grass directly after mowing. Use a brush or cloth for cleaning.
Do not rotate the cutter bar, as otherwise motor oil is pumped into the carburettor/air
filter and start-up difficulties can occur.
CAUTION
The deflector is under tension, be careful when cleaning it as otherwise fingers
can become crushed.
IMPORTANT
Never use high-pressure cleaners or a normal water jet to clean the drive area,
engine parts (such as ignition system, carburettor etc.), seals and bearing points.
Damage or expensive repairs can be the consequence of such action.

For space-saving storage or for transportation, loosen the two quick releases
(SA1626) or handle nuts (SA1649) such that the top handlebar can be folded
down towards the engine.
Do not kink nor squeeze the throttle cables in the process.
CAUTION
When the bar is moved for transport and storage purposes, the bar may fold over
unintentionally when the quick releases (SA1626) are opened or handle nuts
(SA1649) are released. In addition, beware of potential crushing spots between
the bottom and top parts of the bar. This may result in risk of injury.

If the equipment must be carried, hold it at the front of the housing (1) and at the
rear by the cross bar of the guide bar, or if the bar is folded, by the cross bar of the
lower guide bar section (2) (see illustration N ).
Please take the weight of the machine into consideration before lifting it (see
Technical Data). Lifting large weights can result in health problems.
We recommend that this equipment should always be lifted or carried by at least
two people, when other means of help are not available.
