16.7 FUNCTION
The transmitter employs a new, graphical method of selecting
the model type as basis for the mixer functions and transmitter
contr
ol arrangement (stick mode), and this automatically gene-
rates the optimum configuration for the selected model type.
We r
ecommend that you keep to this set-up if possible, so that
you are always using a standard configuration.
The “Function” menu clearly shows the output to which the
corresponding servo is connected, and which transmitter con-
trol is used to operate it. Where a single function operates two
or more servos, the corresponding transmitter controls are
configured accordingly. Within an individual model type the
configuration varies little, although the number of channels in
use may increase if the number of wing flaps and other control
surfaces is higher than usual.
The situation is different when you switch from one model type
to another. For example, if the model type changes from a nor-
mal tail to a tail layout with two elevator servos (Ailvator), the
sequence of functions is necessarily different. The same also
applies to model gliders (powered and unpowered), and for
flying wing models with and without winglets.
NEW FUNCTION SEQUENCE
For the PCM-G3 system the second aileron output has been
shifted to output 5, in order to maintain compatibility with
small five-channel and six-channel r
eceivers. The higher num-
ber of channels has also necessitated this change. This means
that the receiver channel sequence is not the same as that of
the PCM 1024 / PPM 8 system.
However, you can select any function sequence you like in this
menu, in order to maintain compatibility with the PCM 1024
and PPM 8 system.
NOTE:
If you need to change the function sequence when using the
PCM-G3 system, please ensur
e that associated functions ar
e
assigned together within the channel groups 1 … 6 or 7 … 12.
Do not assign paired functions to channels 6 and 7, as this
could result in different servo transit times.
SERVO ASSIGNMENT TABLES
These tables are printed in Section 6 - Servo
connections - on page 16.

Free choice of function sequence
The “CH” (channel) numbering corresponds to the
output number at the receiver
.
Press the Function button, and define the desired
function for this channel.
Free choice of transmitter control
Each control function can be assigned to any trans-
mitter control.
Press the transmitter control, and define the control
for this function.
Multiprop channels
It is also possible to expand two of these outputs using optional
Multi-Decoders (No. F 1400). These modules are connected to
the receiver
, and provide eight channels each for auxiliary wor-
king systems on multi-function models.
Sepa / Glob - Separate / Global
Use the Glob / Sepa button to determine whether the transmit-
ter control is to be the same for this function in all flight modes
(= Glob). If the function is changed to Sepa (separate), you can
use a dif
ferent transmitter control for this function in each flight
mode. In this case the display will change when you operate the
selected flight mode change-over switch. It is also possible to
set up a combination of global and separate-acting transmitter
controls.
Separate / Global: indicates whether the trim
is to affect all flight modes globally, or varies
according to the flight mode selected.
