Non-ferrous Metals
Use only a suitable and sharp saw blade.
This ensures a clean cut and prevents jam-
ming of the saw blade.
Apply the machine running to the workpiece,
carefully start sawing and then saw with
slow feeding and without interruption.
For pro les, always start the cut on the small
side; for U-pro les, never start the cuts on
the open side.
Support long pro le, otherwise the saw
blade can become jammed when the pro le
tips over and the machine can “kick back”.
Connect the circular saw through a circuit
breaker to current protection (FI).
Connect suitable vacuum cleaner to the
tool.
Keep the tool clean off dust which accumu-
lates on the engine housing and inside the
protective cover.
Safety goggles should always be worn.
When large panels are cut, paraf n should
be used as a lubricant. Thin-walled pro le
sections upto 3 mm thick can be cut without
lubrication.
Material with Mineral Content
(Light building material)
Only dry cutting is permitted.
Use vacuum dust extraction. The vacu-
um cleaner must be suitable for masonry
dust.
9 Use of Accessories
The machine has a longitudinal slot at the
base plate underside to take up a guide rail.
With this guide rail, it is made easy to carry
out larger cuts.
PROTOOL Guiding System
For easy and safe handling when cutting
large work pieces as well as for achiev-
ing exact angle cuts, the use of the
GRP 800/1400/3000-2 guiding system is
recommended.
With it, clean cuts are possible by preci-
sion guiding of the machine along a cutting
line. In addition, the hard anodising of the
guide rail makes possible easy gliding of the
machine and thereby reduces the required
advancing force while improving the work
progress.
The guide rails are equipped with a splinter-
guard [4-1], which has to be cut to size
before the rst use:
- Set the speed of the machine to level 6,
- Place the machine on the rear end of the
guide rail,
- Switch the machine on, press it down to
the set cutting depth and cut the splinter-
guard along the full length without inter-
ruption. The edge of the splinterguard
now corresponds exactly to the cutting
edge.
The saw’s side suction clearance is possible
to adjusting the adjusting nobs [3-11].
Mounting the Guide Rail
(GRP 800/1400/3000-2)
The mounting of the guide rail takes place
with the use of the special screw clamps
CL-GRP 300 [4-2] which are slid into the re-
ceptacle slots provided. This makes secure
holding possible also on uneven surfaces.
In addition, the “Anti-slip Coating” applied
to the underside of the guide rail ensures
secure contact and prevents scratches on
sensitive material surfaces.
Mounting the Connection Piece
(CN-GRP)
Depending on the application and the size
of the work piece, several guide rails can
be connected together with the use of the
connection piece. For the permanent con-
nection of several guide rails, the connec-
tion pieces can be fastened with screws at
the respective threaded holes.
Mounting the Angle Unit (GRP-AG-2)
The combination of the guide rail and the
continuously adjustable angle unit makes
possible exact angle cutting, e. g., for t-
ting work. On the scale, the required angle
can be set.
When sawing with the PROTOOL GRP
guiding system, 4.5 mm is always to be
added to the necessary cutting depth.
Saw Table
Additional application possibilities are avail-
able with the use of a saw table. Further
information in this regard is available from
your dealer.
