Manually Recording a
Digital Source
If you are recording from a digital source other than CD, MD, DCC
or DAT—digital satellite, for example—synchro recording is not
possible since there are no track numbers or start IDs to signal the
start and end points of the recording. For these sources, use the
manual recording method described here.
To record one track from a CD, MD, DAT or DCC, see
Recording One Track from a Digital Source on pages 34-
35.
To record all tracks from a CD, MD, DAT or DCC, turn to
Recording All Tracks from a Digital Source on pages 36-
37.
To record all the tracks on the source then finalize the disc,
see Automatically Recording and Finalizing a Disc on
pages 38-39.
To record from any source through the analog inputs, see
Recording an Analog Source on pages 43-44.
1 Load a CD–R or CD–RW disc.
If it’s a blank disc, the display indicates this:
RDM PGM RPT-1
CD-RW
D.VOL
L
R
SYNC DIGITAL FINALIZE
SKIP ON A.TRACK FADER
If the disc isn’t blank, use the TIME button to check that
there's enough space on it for what you want to record.
2 Press INPUT SELECTOR to choose
the digital input.
Pressing input selector repeatedly switches the active input:
ANA (analog) – DIG (digital) [ – THR (thru)]*
The recorder's display indicates the current input:
RDM PGM RPT-1
CD-RW
D.VOL
L
R
SYNC DIGITAL FINALIZE
SKIP ON A.TRACK FADER
* This option only appears when the CD recorder is not
connected to the XC–L77 CD receiver. See page 45 for more
on using the thru input mode.
RDM PGM RPT-1
CD-RW
D.VOL
L
R
SYNC DIGITAL FINALIZE
SKIP ON A.TRACK FADER
ANA
(analogique) -
DIG
(numérique) [-
THR
(en boucle)]*
L'affichage de l'enregistreur indique l'entrée actuelle.

SYNC DIGITAL FINALIZE
SKIP ON A.TRACK FADER
boucle.
