Press button ® 'DOWN' or @ 'UP' repeatedly
and briefly. This changes the tuning frequency step
by step until the correct value is reached. If it is a
stereo transmission indicator @ 'STEREO' lights
up.
Note:
With powerful transmitters the 'TUNED'
indicator lights up. This does not happen wIth
relatlvely weal< transmitters. In these cases press
button d) or @ briefiy again, until reception is
optimum.
If you pass the required frequency
Go back step by step to the desired frequency by
briefly and repeatedly pressing the ether button
@or
(8).
Depress, if desired, key @ 'FM-NR' to reduce
posslble noise.
During tuning the audio signals are completely
suppressed to prevent any interference trom
parasitic nolse.
If you are tuning to weak FM transmitters, press
button @ 'FM AUTO STEREO' once; indicator ®
'FM auto stereo' goes out. The tuner then only piays
back in mono and the audio signal is not suppres-
sed during tuning; this prevents these transmitters
from being suppressed.
C. Tuning to pre-selected transmitters
Pre-selected transmitters can only be tuned If they
have been programmed beforehand in the memory.
Programming transmitters
Tune either automatically or manually to the
transmitter to be programmed.
Press button @ 'MEMORY'. Indicator
'MEMORY' lights up on display @.
Then while Indicator 'MEMORY' is llt up (5 se-
conds),
quickly press the required pre-selected
location @ 'PRESET STATION'. To programme one
of the locations 1 to 8, press the required button
briefiy (less than 0.5 second). (FM, LW or MW
transmitters).
To programme one of the locations 9 to 16 press
the required button (jonger than 0.5 second). (FM
transmitters only). WhIle programming, pay at-
tentlon to display 0.
Wofe;Two FM, 1 medium or 1 long wave transmitter
can be programmed by button 0. By the use of FM
transmitters, mono and stereo can be program-
med.
The tuner has a standby functlon which prevents
the loss of Information stored In the memory tor a
period of 7 days In the event of a power cut. If the
Interruption lasts for longer than 7 days, the trans-
mitters must be reprogrammed.
Calling up stored transmitters
Select the required tuning range with selector
button @ 'LW', @ 'MW' or @ 'FM'.
Press the required pre-seiected location 0
'PRESET STATION'.
With FM press briefly for the pre-selected locations
1 to 8 and slightly longer for the pre-selected
locations 9 to 16. With LW and MW the length of
time the button is pressed has no influence. Pay
attentlon to display 0.
Depress, If desired, key @ 'FM-NR' to reduce
posslble nolse.
It is posslble to change from this pre-selected
tuning to manual or automatic tuning without further
actlon.
A pre-selected transmitter can only be retrieved
from the memory by programming another In place
of It.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Signal suppression (mute)
The audio signal disappears (mute) during varlous
operations. The purpose of this is to suppress any
Interference from parasitic noise. It occurs for
example during automatic tuning (tuning cracklel),
when operating buttons 0 'DOWN' and 0 'UP'.
FM stereo playback
Powerful FM stereo signals are reproduced nolse-
free by the tuner. Indicator @ 'STEREO' then lights
up.
With weaker signals the nolse level quickly In-
creases. This noise can be reduced by depressing
key @ 'FM-NR' but from a certain limit It Is
recommended to switch over to mono playback.
First switch off nolse reduction key @ 'FM-NR' and
depress key @ 'FM AUTO STEREO' once. Indicator
0 'FM auto stereo' then goes out.
Service
The outside of the tuner can be cleaned with a damp
fiuff-free cloth. Use only water to dampen the cloth.
