In
areas
where the frame aerial would give
unsatisfactory
results, connection of the tuner
to an

connection screw marked 'AM' for this.
An

The
display gives information about the tuning,
such
as:
'FM',
'MW' and 'LW' tuning range, frequency in
'kHz'
or 'MHz', memory location numbers 'PI'
to 'P16' and the indications
'MEMORY',

'TUNED'.
© signal-strength indicator
It indicates the signal strength of the received
transmitter.
Tuning
is optimal when as many segments as
possible
light
up.
This
indicator should

ly be observed in
case
the transmitter frequen-
cy

For
calling up or programming pre-selected
transmitters.
If the
button
is pressed for a short time
(less
than 0.5
sec),
then the FM pre-selected transmit-
ters
1 to 8 can be
used.
If the
button
is pressed
for longer (more than 0,5 sec), then the FM
pre-selected
transmitters 9 to 16 can be
used.
The
length of time the

key (tuning sensitivity)
Key
not depressed: indicator © does not
light
up and tuning takes place at normal tuning
sensitivity.
Key
depressed: indicator © lights up and the
scan
level is lowered resulting in higher tuning
sensitivity.
This
position thus facilitates tuning in
of relatively weak stations during scanning op-
eration.
© Key for FM noise reduction
'FM-NR'
Normally this key may not be depressed.
Only depress this key if upon reception of weak
FM
stereo transmitters annoying noise is audi-
ble.
In spite of the reduction of the noise the
stereo
effect during playback is
preserved.
The
tact that this key is depressed is made visible by
lighting
up of indicator @.
