The fast winding, pause, play and stop modes
remain possible during the idex scan process:
When listening to a lOseconds fragment, you
can wind to the next part. Just press the' @ or
'
® button in accordance with the 'REVERSE
MODE BH' indicator.
When pressing the fast winding button in the
direction opposite to the scanning direction (in-
dicated by the 'REVERSE MODE BH' indicator),
the beginning of the previous fragment will be
heard.
When pressing the 'PAUSE' button during scan-
ning,
the tape will stop at the beginning of the next
fragment. When pressing the 'PAUSE' button
again,
the fragment will be heard, after which the
'INDEX SCAN' operation is continued.
The 'INDEX SCAN' system can be stopped at any
moment by pressing the 'STOP' button @.
QUICK MUSIC SEARCH SYSTEM (QMS)
The Quicl< Music Search system enables you to
select directly a desired number or fragment on a
cassette by sl<ipping one or more numbers. First
determine how many fragments have to be skipped
before the desired passage is reached. Sl<ipping
can be done in both directions. Now press the QMS
button as many times as necessary to conform to
the number of fragments to be passed. This number
will show on the display. Entering the desired QMS
number may be done during the 'PLAY', 'PAUSE',
or 'STOP' modes, with a maximum of 15 number to
be passed.
Now press one of the fast wind buttons, depending
on the position of the desired fragment on the tape.
The decl< will then (re)wind to the beginning of the
desired fragment and switch to the 'PLAY' mode.
N.S.;The
QMS system reacts on silent passages of
at least 4 seconds on a recorded cassette. In some
cases a very faint passage in a piece of music can
be picl<ed up by the system as a 'silent' passage.
Recording silent passages tor the QMS system
Silent passages can be inserted automatically
between the recordings by pressing the 'REC
MUTE'
button @ after each number recorded.
There is then automatically a silent passage of
4 seconds after which the deck stops in the
record + pause mode.
RECORDING/PLAYBACK VIA TIMER
Timer switch (g) enables you to preset the recorder
in recording or playback position for use with a
timer.
When usinga programmable timer or any othertime
switch device which can be used to switch on the
mains voltage of a cassette deck, you can make a
recording (or play a cassette) while you are absent.
Connect the mains lead of the recorder (and of
the tuner if you wish to record a radio programme)
to the timer and switch on the mains.
Carry out all the necessary adjustments for
recording,
such as the recording leve! etc.
Switch off the mains supply by setting the timer
unit in such a way that it will switch on again at the
desired time, see operating instructions of the
timer.
The mains switch of the recorder (and of the
tuner) must not be switched off.
Set timer switch (g) of the recorder to the desired
position (for recording or playback).
At the selected time the programme will be
recorded (or played back).
The cassette deck will be switched off automatical-
ly,
either through the automatic stop of the deck
itself, or through the timer unit, whichever operates
first.
When coming home, timer switch (g) should be
set to the 'OFF' position before switching on the
mains.
Remark
When switching on the mains, using 'ON/OFF'
switch 0 or via a timer, the cassette deck will
always enter the mode of Fig. 7b. This means that
two sides of a cassette may be recorded (or played
back) while you are absent.
If you only want to record one side, then insert the
cassette with the full reel to the right and press the
' < PLAY' button @ and immediately afterwards the
'STOP'
button @, after which the 'REVERSE MODE
HB'
indicator indicates the direction '<1'.
