Safety instructions for pneumatic tools
When not in use, keep pneumatic devices out
of the reach of children. Do not let anyone use
the device if they are not familiar with its use
or have not read these instructions. Pneumatic
tools are dangerous when they are used by
inexperienced persons.
Ensure the device is cared for properly. Check
that the device’s moving parts are in perfect
working order and are not stuck or jammed.
Check that parts are not broken or damaged
in a way that stops the device from working
properly. Ensure that damaged parts have
been repaired before using the device. Many
accidents are caused by devices that have not
been properly maintained.
Ensure that the device is switched off when not
in use.
Wear personal protective equipment
and safety goggles at all times.
Depending on the type of pneumatic
tool and how it is used, wearing personal
protective equipment such as a dust mask,
non-slip safety shoes, a hard hat and hearing
protection can lessen the risk of injuries.
Check all connections and supply lines. The
specifications of maintenance units, couplings
and hoses must match the rated values for the
device in terms of pressure and airflow rate.
The device will not work properly if the
pressure is too low, while excessive pressure
can cause damage and injuries.
Ensure hoses cannot become kinked or
crushed, and keep them away from solvents
and sharp edges. Also keep hoses away from
heat, oil and rotating parts.
Ensure that hose clamps are always properly
tightened. Loose or damaged hose clamps can
allow air to escape from the device accidentally.
Always replace damaged hoses as soon as
possible. Defects in compressed air supply
lines can cause air hoses to whip around
uncontrollably and this can lead to injuries.
If the power cable for this device becomes
damaged, ensure that the cable is replaced by
the manufacturer, a customer service technician
or other qualified person to avoid any possible
hazards.
Do not use the device if you are tired or under
the influence of drugs, alcohol or medicines.
A brief moment of carelessness when using the
device can result in serious injuries.
Do not breathe in the device’s exhaust air.
Avoid exposing your eyes to the device’s
exhaust air. The exhaust air from the pneumatic
device can contain water, oil, particles of metal
or dirt from the compressor. This can be harm-
ful to health.
TAKE CARE WHEN
SETTING DOWN THE DEVICE!
Never set the device down so that it ends up
lying on the trigger.
In the worst case, this
could cause the
device to switch itself back on
accidentally, which could result in a dangerous
situation.
Use compatible accessories at all times. These
can be purchased from the manufacturer. Use
of third-party accessories can cause hazards.
The compressed air source must have a filter
and regulator. Dust, corrosive fumes and/or
moisture can result in damage to the motor in
a pneumatic tool.
The hose must be designed to handle
pressures of at least 8.6 bar or
125 psi – and never less than 150%
of the maximum pressure generated in the
system.
The tool and intake hose must be
fitted with a hose coupling, so as to
ensure that pressure is completely
discharged when the coupling hose is
disconnected.
DANGER! Avoid contact with a supply line
that is carrying live current. This device
provides no insulation against electric shock.
DANGER OF INJURY!
High working pressures can produce powerful
recoil forces that can in some circumstances
create hazards due to continuous stress and
strain.
If you do not have experience with using the
device, you should seek training to ensure you
can use it safely.
