Cooking and reheating guidelines
Most foods reheat very TuickOy in your oven
by +,G+ power. MeaOs can be brought back
to serving temperature in Must minutes and wiOO
taste freshOy cooked. AOways check food is
piping hot and return to oven if necessary.
As a generaO ruOe, aOways cover wet foods, e.g.
soups, casseroOes and pOated meaOs.
'o not cover dry foods e.g. bread roOOs, mince
pies, sausage roOOs, Macket potatoes, etc.
The charts on pages  show you the best
way to cook or reheat your favourite foods. The
best method depends on the type of food you
are cooking or reheating.
Remember to stir or turn food wherever
possibOe during cooking or reheating. This
ensures even cooking or reheating on the
outside and in the centre.
When is food reheated?
Food that has been reheated or cooked shouOd
be served ´piping hotµ i.e. steam shouOd be
visibOy emitted from aOO parts. As Oong as good
hygiene practices have been foOOowed during
the prepa ra tion and storage of the food, then
cooking or reheating presents no safety risks.
Foods that cannot be stirred shouOd be cut
with a knife to test that they are adeTuateOy
heated throughout. Even if a manufac tur erҋs
instructions or the times in the cookbook have
been foOOowed, it is stiOO important to check the
food is heated thoroughOy. ,f in doubt, aOways
return to the oven for further reheating.

chart then choose a simiOar type and size Oisted
and adMust the cooking time if necessary.
Plated meals
Everyoneҋs appetite varies and reheat times
depend on meaO contents. 'ense items e.g.
mashed potato, shouOd be spread out weOO.
,f a Oot of gravy is added, e[tra time may be
reTuired. POace denser items to the outside of
the pOate.
An average pOated meaO wiOO take 7 mins on
+igh power to reheat. 'o not stack meaOs.
Canned foods
Remove foods from can and pOace in a suitabOe
dish before heating. Stir food haOfway though
cooking and again at the end of heating.
Soups
POace soup in a bowO and stir before heating
and at Oeast once through reheat time and
again at the end.
Casseroles
Stir haOfway through and again at the end of
heating.
Mince pies – Caution!
REMEM%ER even if the pastry is coOd to the
touch, the ÀOOing wiOO be piping hot and wiOO warm
the pastry through. Take care not to overheat
otherwise burning can occur due to the high
fat and sugar content of the ÀOOing. &heck the
temperature of the ÀOOing before consuming to
avoid burning your mouth.

050 secs &+E&. &AREFULLY.
For Á oz of miOk from fridge temperature,
remove top and teat. +eat on +,G+ power for
150 secs &+E&. &AREFULLY
Note
LiTuid at the top of the bottOe wiOO be much
hotter than at the bottom. The bottOe must be
shaken thoroughOy and tested before use.
