during working phases. It is actuated, with
consequent instant locking of the chain, when
the operator presses the lever (Fig. 17).
The chain brake is released by pulling the
lever towards the operator (Fig. 4) only after
having completely released the starting switch
(B, Fig. 16).
CHECKING BRAKE OPERATION
At machine inspection prior to each job, check
the operating condition of the brake following
the steps below:
1. Start the engine and grasp the handle
securely with both hands.
2. Pulling the throttle lever to maintain the
chain operation, push the brake lever down
toward the front using the back of your left
hand (Fig. 17).
3. When the brake operates and the chain is
stopped, release the throttle lever.
4. Release the brake (Fig. 4).
PROHIBITED USE
Do not use for forestry work (felling trees or
cutting branches), since the connection cable
does not guarantee the necessary mobility and
safety demanded by such operations.
WARNING - Always follow the safety
regulations. The electric saw must only
be used for cutting wood. It is forbidden to
cut other types of material. Vibrations and
kickback vary with different materials and
the requirements of the safety regulations
would not be respected. Do not use the
electric saw as a lever for lifting, moving
or splitting objects. Do not lock it over
fixed stands. It is prohibited to fit tools or
attachments to the power take-off of the
electric saw, other than those indicated by
the manufacturer; the operator could suffer
serious injury.
If using the electric chainsaw for the first time,
gain confidence by making a few practice cuts
on a firmly held log, under the supervision of an
expert user. Never push down on the saw when
cutting. The weight of the saw alone enables it
to cut properly with minimum effort obtaining
the best performance.
WARNING - Do not use for sawing
in the rain, or in wet or very humid
environments (the power saw is not water
proofed), when visibility is poor or in very
high or low temperatures.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
BUCKING
When bucking up the trunk to desired lengths,
there is one basic rule to follow. Look to see
where the trunk is supported, and determine
which way the two halves will fall when cut.
a) If the trunk is supported at both ends, first
make a small cut at the top (1 - Fig. 18), then
complete the cut from the bottom (2 - Fig.
18). This will avoid pinching the saw.
b) If the trunk is supported at one end or
near the center, first make a small cut from
underneath (1 - Fig. 18), then complete the
cut from the top (2 - Fig. 18).
WARNING - If the saw becomes pinched
in the trunk, stop the motor, lift the log
and change its position. Never attempt to
free the saw by pulling on it.
Use the bucking tooth (Fig.19) to  x the tool to
the timber before starting the cut so that it can
be used as a point of leverage during the cut.
PRECAUTIONS FOR THE WORK AREA
- Never cut in the vicinity of other electrical
cables.
- Always cut from a firm-footed and safe
position. Only start cutting when the chain is
moving. During work use the teeth as a
support point.
- The cut must be carried out so as to prevent
the guide bar from sticking in the wood.
- Do not expose the electric saw to rain or
high humidity conditions.
- Work only in conditions offering sufficient
visibility and light to see clearly.
- Be particularly cautious and alert when
wearing ear protectors, as these can restrict
your ability to hear sounds indicating danger
(shouts, signals, warnings, etc.)
