3. INFORMATION AND GENERAL ADVICE
a) Before carrying out cleaning or maintenance work, the power supply of the extractor hood must be
disconnected by pulling out the plug or switching off / removing the fuse.
b) The air drawn in by the extractor hood must not be discharged via the exhaust hose of the heating
system or other, non-electrically operated appliances.
c) Flambéed dishes must not be prepared under the extractor hood.
The naked ame could destroy the hood or cause a kitchen re.
d) When frying food, never leave the pan unattended as the fat could catch re.
e) Regular maintenance ensures the trouble-free operation and optimum performance of the
extractor hood.
f) Ensure that the room is adequately ventilated.
g) Clean the extractor hood at regular intervals, ideally after every use.
h) Regularly clean or replace the lter(s).
The exhaust hose must not be in ammable materials or contain such.
4. USING THE EXTRACTOR HOOD
4.1 Safety instructions for use
During the operation of the extractor hood, the grease lter must always be in place, otherwise the grease
vapour can be deposited in the hood and in the air exhaust system.
With gas cookers, it must be ensured that the burners are not used without cooking utensils.
With naked gas ames, parts of the appliance can be damaged by the increasing heat.
Flambéing underneath the extractor hood is not allowed because of the risk of re. The rising ame
can ignite the grease deposited in the lter.
Due to the risk of re, frying or working with oils and fats under the extractor hood must only take
place under constant supervision.
Other work with naked ames is also not allowed. It could damage the lter(s) or other parts of the
appliance or cause a re.
