5. CLEANING AND CARE
Before all installation, maintenance or cleaning work, disconnect the extractor hood from the electricity
supply. To do so, pull out the mains plug of the appliance or switch off the fuse of the house wiring or
completely screw out the screw fuse of the house wiring.
The extractor hood must not be cleaned with a steam cleaner.
With a matt black painted appliance, do not use any alcohol-containing cleaning agents.
These can cause discolouration
There is the risk of re from grease deposits if the maintenance and cleaning instructions are not
complied with.
The grease lters present on your appliance must be regularly cleaned and replaced.
Grease-saturated lters can quickly catch re and, in addition, spread unpleasant odours. Soak the
lter in hot water in (40-50°C) and a little grease dissolving cleaning agent for about 3 minutes and
then carefully brush it off with a soft brush. Use as little force as possible for this to avoid damaging
it. Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents, they can damage the lter and the extractor hood. Alter
natively, the lter can be washed in a dishwasher with dishwasher detergent at a temperature of
approx. 60 degrees. Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents, they can damage the lter.
The functioning of the appliance can be seriously impaired by grease lters clogged with dirt particles.
• Do not clean too wet in the area of the operating elements in order to avoid the ingress of water into
the electronics.
Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents or alcohol as these agents can damage the housing.
Special instructions for appliances with stainless steel housings
A commercially available, non-abrasive, stainless steel cleaning agent is suitable for the cleaning of the
stainless steel surfaces. In order to prevent quick re-soiling, treatment with a stainless steel care product
is advisable. Apply the agent evenly and sparingly using a soft cloth.
Under no circumstances use any stainless steel cleaning agent in the area of the operating elements.
Ensure that the mesh is not damaged when cleaning metal grease lters. Discolouration of the metal
surfaces can occur through too frequent cleaning or the use of an aggressive cleaning agent. This has no
effect on the lter function and is not a reason for complaint.
