This section shows how to make the settings for POP3 Protocol. POP3 is used to
receive remote print jobs via e-mail.
6-11 Advanced > Management / E-mail: POP3: Account
This makes the settings for receiving and printing e-mail. Up to three e-mail accounts
can be registered. Received e-mails can be filtered by size, title, To, CC or From.
Attached files can be received and printed.
Item Description
POP3 Protocol Enables (On) or disables (Off) the POP3 protocol.
Check Interval Checks e-mails in POP3 server at specific interval. Specify the interval in
the range from 3 minutes to 60 minutes. The default is 15 minutes.
Run once now Click the Run once now button to immediately receive e-mail from the
POP3 server.
Item Description
Account 1 (to 3) For Recipient 1 (to 3), Address enter the e-mail address of the intended
recipient. Entering a distribution list address is a simple way to send to
multiple recipients.
E-mail Address Under E-mail Address, check the box for each type of error condition to be
reported to the recipient.
POP3 Server Name Sets the POP3 host name (max. 78 characters). Enter the domain name
or IP address for the host name. You need to set the DNS server when you
use a domain name.
Test Buttton Click the Test button to check if the e-mail accounts settings are correct.
POP3 Port Number Specifies the POP3 port number. Use the default value (110).
The port number is usually a value in the range from 1 to 65535.
Login Account Name Set the login name of the e-mail account (user name).
(max. 64 characters)
Login Password Sets the password for connecting to the POP3 server.
(max. 31 characters)
Use APOP Enables (On) or disables (Off) APOP. This setting must be enabled (On) to
connect to a mail server supporting APOP.
Delete e-mail after retrieval Selects whether to delete the e-mail received/printed from server or not.
E-mail Size Limit Except the e-mail over the specified size to be received. Even if Delete
e-mail after retrieval is Enable (On), it will not be deleted. When 0 is
specified, there is no limitation.
Filter Setting You can specify character strings for filtering e-mail (max. 255 characters).
The filtering methods are shown below.
• Use the s: string to filter the Subject condition.
• Use the T: string to filter the (To) condition.
• Use the C: string to filter the (Cc) condition.
• Use the F: string to filter the (From) condition.
• To filter using two or more conditions, insert | between each string.
• To filter using all conditions, insert & between each string.
For example, to print only the e-mails with a subject of Service or
Technical, specify: S:Service|S:Technical
Cover Page Enables (On) or disables (Off) the cover page. Specifies if the e-mail
header and body are printed when printing the e-mail.
• When set to On, the e-mail is printed with a cover page attached. If the
message has a text, it is printed as a cover page.
• When set to Off, only the attached file is printed. Nothing is printed if
there is no attached file.
