7.7 How to achieve the
optimal wash
It is important to take the condition of the pig house and the filth de-
gree into account when programming the robot to achieve the best
result. It should also be considered how long time and how much
water the robot has at its disposal during the cleaning.
As it appears from the diagram below, the filth degree decreases
significantly in the first wash and less significantly in the following
washes.
The more washes the robot runs, the cleaner pig house, but the
usefulness of the water consumption will decrease with each wash-
ing.
Therefore it is important that you make up your mind how much wa-
ter you want to use for automatic washing taking water saving into
account.
Allowable water consumption of the robot
Generally undreamt-of quantities of time, water and power are not
available, why it would be beneficial for the user to wash the pig
house only 60% clean compared to washing the pig house 80%
clean - he will save time, water and power.
The reason is that it requires just as much time, water and power to
wash from 0% to 60% clean as is used for washing from 60% t 80%
clean.
By washing 40% manually in stead of only 20% the user will save
money.
If the user carries out the manual cleaning immediately after the
robot has finished cleaning, he will experience that it is much faster
than if the pig house dries up. The reason is that the dirt has been
soaked and is easier to wash away right after the robot has finished
cleaning.
Adjustment of the speed of the robot to the programmed
washing area
The washing robot has a variable propulsion speed and adjusts this
to the programmed washing area (pen depth + (height of fence and
