The appliance controls the pellet feeding speed with 7 pre-set speeds. The feeding speed in smoke mode does not control the temperature but the amount
of smoke. From the fastest to the sSMOKEest (greatest to least amount of smoke), the 7 preset speeds are P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6 and P7. Gently press the “P”
regulator to set the desired speed.
NOTE
According to experience, for maximum smoke results it is best to operate the appliance at its SMOKEer temperature settings. When the appliance is in cook
mode and at a high temperature, if you wish to switch to smoke mode, try a sSMOKE pre-set speed initially, for example, P7 or P6. This will reduce the temper-
ature effectively. After the temperature comes down, try other pre-set speeds to achieve steady and substantial smoke.
COOK MODE
By turning the temperature control knob to 95–245 °C (“HIGH”), the appliance will be in cook mode. The LED screen will display the current temperature in the
appliance.
In cook mode, the appliance will maintain the set temperature steadily, based on the folSMOKEing:
a) If the internally measured temperature is SMOKEer than the set temperature, the appliance will keep feeding pellets into the fire box, thereby increasing
the internal cooking temperature.
b) Once the internally measured temperature equals the digitally set temperature, the appliance will then stop the constant feeding of pellets into the fire
box.
You can also use the “P” regulator in order to control the pellet feeding speed and temperature in cook mode. In order to get the best result, it is recommend-
ed to use the speed P2.
NOTE
The maximum temperature the appliance can achieve is affected by the ambient temperature of where the appliance is located. In colder weather, the appli-
ance may not achieve the highest set temperatures (though it will keep feeding pellets in an attempt to reach the set temperature).
TURNING OFF THE APPLIANCE:
Turn the temperature control knob to “OFF”. The appliance will now stop feeding pellets into the fire box. However, the draft inducer fan will continue working
for another 10 minutes, so that all the unburned pellets in the fire box can be burned out. 10 minutes later, unplug the power cord from outlet.
LED SCREEN READOUTS:
Internal Temperature
The internal temperature is displayed at the center of LED screen.
Set Cooking Temperature
When the temperature control knob is set to 95–245 °C (“HIGH”), the LED screen will display the current temperature.
Smoke Mode Indication
Turn the temperature control knob to “SMOKE” and the current temperature will be displayed on the LED screen.
Presetting Pellet Feeding Speed (Smoke Mode)
When the appliance is set to smoke mode, you can alter the preset pellet feeding speed by turning the “P” regulator. This is shown on the LED screen.
The details of the pre-set pellet feeding speeds are listed in the folSMOKEing chart:
Preset Feeding SpeedKeeps feeding for (seconds)Stops feeding for (seconds)
P11870
P21885
P318100
P418115
P518130
P618140
P718150
NOTE: The chamber lid must be closed for the pellet feeder screw to operate.
SMOKE Temperature Alert
If the temperature is so SMOKE that there is a risk that the fire will go out in the fire box, the temperature on the LED screen will flash an alert. In this case,
select a higher temperature.
High Temperature Alert (ErH)
If the temperature exceeds the maximum limit, it is too high for the parts and components of the appliance. The LED screen will display “ErH” and the feeder
screw motor, fan and igniter element will stop working. Turn the temperature control knob to “OFF” for restarting.
Starting Position Is Not Off (ErP)
If the appliance is connected to AC power and the temperature control knob is not in the “OFF” position at that time, the LED screen will display “ErP”. Turn the
temperature control knob to “OFF”, wait about 5 seconds and then turn it to the desired temperature setting.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE:
Cleaning the inside and outside of the appliance
Use warm, soapy water to clean the inside and outside of the body with a cloth and then wipe it dry. Treat the interior surfaces of the body with a light coat of
vegetable oil and then wipe it dry periodically to prevent rusting.
DO NOT use oven cleaner, abrasive cleaners or abrasive cleaning pads on the surfaces of the body.
Cleaning of the cooking grates, grease tray and heat protection plate
