2 Band Saw Installation
Remove wrapping and check for any visible damage
which may have occurred during transport. If damage is
detected notify your dealer immediately.
For a firm stand and vertical stability this maschine has
to be bolted to the floor. For this purpose four 13 mm
holes are provided in the machine's base. Drill holes in
floor according to the drilling pattern shown in fig. 3.

1.3 Safety Information
1. Before switching on be sure that all guards are in place
and securely locked.
2. Always disconnect from power when changing blades
and servicing machine.
3. Do not use cracked or bent saw blades.
4. Replace table insert if slot has enlarged.
5. When cutting with the table tilted always set fence to
the right of the blade to support the workpiece.
6. When cutting round stock use a suitable jig to prevent
the work from turning (fig. 1).
7. When cutting boards in an upright position use a
suitable push block to prevent kickback (fig. 2).
8. Before tilting the table for bevel cuts replace the table
insert (209) with the wide slot table insert (208).
9. For safe operation and to keep dust emission within
the legal limits a dust collector with a minimum air flow
rate of 20 m/s must be connected to this band saw.
To facilitate better handling and prevent damage to
projecting parts during transport, this machine is shipped
partly disassembled. After unpacking the saw table, rip
fence and crank handle have to be installed before the
saw can be operated.
Remove rip fence carrier extrusion from saw table to
have access to the slot in the table.
Place saw table on the upper table trunnion.
Bolt table to trunnion with 4 each serrated lock washers
Ø 8.4 mm and hexagon head screws M 8x16.

Residual risks of woodworking machines
Even if
all safety guards are used
the machine is used according to its specified condition
of use
all relevant safety regulations are observed
the following residual risks remain:
- hearing damage by noise emission
- risk of injury by hand contact with the uncovered
cutting area of the blade
- risk of injury when changing a blade (cuts)
- risk of injury by ejection of workpieces or parts thereof
- squashing of fingers
- risk of being drawn into the cutting tool when using a
power feed attachment
- danger of kickback
- inhalation of harmful dusts generated when working
wood, especially oak and beech dust.
The principle risks associated with a woodworking
machine are:
- workpiece kickback
- tilting of the workpiece due to insufficient support
- contact with the cutting tool
- being drawn into revolving tools
- ejection of objects such as knots or other workpiece
parts
The principle danger zones of a woodworking machine
are:
- the work area
- the close proximity to revolving machine parts
- the kickback area
