8. Initial operation
h) Playback via USB Input
• Switch your computer on and wait until your computer has booted the operating system completely.
• Connect the connection USB (20) to the USB interface of your computer.
• Out the input selection switch of the mixer channel B to the position USB.
• Turn on the mixer with the POWER switch (2).
• The operating system automatically recognises the USB interface of your mixer as an external USB audio device
without requiring any drivers for this.
If there is a message on your screen according to which the Windows logo test has not been passed, confirm it.
The USB interface is recognised as a separate USB audio device. If this was not the case, check your
computer system’s instructions or make use of the computer manufacturer’s technical support.
• After automatic recognition, the USB audio device should be configured as standard playback device of your
operating system. If this is not the case, you must perform this manually (on this, see the documentation of your
operating system).
• You may have to assign the USB interface of your audio software as audio output (see documentation of your
audio software).
• Start playback via your audio software. You may influence the audio stream from the computer like any other
audio source using the mixer.
The system requirements for USB playback are found in the “technical data”.
9. Handling
• Never plug the power unit into a mains socket immediately after the device has been taken from a cold to a warm
environment. The condensation that forms could cause irreparable damage to the device. Allow the device to
reach room temperature before connecting it to the power supply. Wait until any condensation present has
evaporated.
• Never disconnect the power unit from the mains socket by pulling the cable. Always pull out the mains plug by
gripping it on the surfaces provided for this purpose.
• Always disconnect the power unit from the mains socket if the device is not to be used for a longer period of time.
• Make sure that the device is sufficiently ventilated when in operation.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power unit from the mains socket in the event of an electrical storm.
• Do not listen to excessively loud music for longer periods of time. This could damage your hearing. This is
especially the case when listening using headphones.
