First use:
Remove the device and accessories from the box. Remove any stickers, protective lm or plastic from the
device.
• Make sure the plug is removed from the power socket.
Before you use the device for the first time, wipe all the removable parts with a damp cloth. Never use
aggressive or abrasive cleaning materials, a scouring sponge or steel wool; these damages the device.
Clean the water tank F before rst use. Remove the detachable water tank F and lift the tank cover E. Fill
the water tank F with clean fresh water. Remove the water from the water tank F by turning the water tank
over F. Repeat these steps ± 3 times.
• Do not use any washing up liquids in the water tank!
Fill the water tank F with clean fresh water and do not exceed the “MAX” water level, dry the water tank
exterior F with a dry cloth.
• Place the tank properly back on the device.
• Place the device on a at, stable surface, in a place where it cannot fall over.
• Make sure the steam control knob D is in the “O” position!
• Connect the device to the mains power.
Press the power button C, the LED indicator next to the power button will illuminate RED. The LED indicator
next to the coffee brewing start/stop button A will slowly ash green.
Select the single or double mesh L and insert it correctly into the metal funnel M. Make sure the tube on
the funnel aligns with the groove of the mesh. Do not put any coffee in the mesh. Then insert the funnel into
the device from the “Insert” position and secure the funnel by turning it counterclockwise until it is at the “Lock”
position.
Once the coffee brewing start/stop LED indicator stops ashing, press the coffee brewing start/stop button A
and the hot water will be owing out. First a small volume will ow, after ± 3 seconds there will be a continuous
ow. During operation the LED indicator will ash.
• Press the coffee brewing start/stop button A again to stop the ow. Now the water is lled in the pump of the
device and the pipes are cleaned.
• The device is now ready for use.
Filling the water tank
• Remove the detachable water tank F
• Open the tank by lifting the tank cover E
• Fill the water tank with clean fresh water.
Make sure the water tank is lled at least above the “MIN” mark and not above the “MAX” mark on the water
tank.
• Close the water tank cover and place the tank properly back into the device.
Pre-heating
To make a cup of good hot Espresso coffee, we recommend preheating the device before making coffee,
including the funnel, lter and cup, so the coffee avor cannot be affected by the cold parts.
• Make sure the water tank is lled at least above the “MIN” mark and not above the “MAX” mark.
• Select the single or double cup mesh L and put it correctly into the metal funnel M.
• Make sure the tube on the funnel aligns with the groove of the mesh. Do not put any coffee in the mesh.
• Insert the funnel into the device from the “Insert” position and secure the funnel by turning it counterclockwise
until it is at the “Lock” position.
• Place a cup on the removable shelf K and make sure it aligns with the funnel.
• Make sure the steam control knob D is in the “O” position!
Press the power button C, the LED indicator next to the power button will illuminate RED. The LED indicator
next to the coffee brewing start/stop button A will slowly ash green.
Once the coffee brewing start/stop LED indicator stops ashing, press the coffee brewing start/stop button A
and the hot water will be owing out. First a small volume will ow, after ± 3 seconds there will be a continuous
ow. During operation the LED indicator will ash.
• Press the coffee brewing start/stop button A again to stop the ow.
• Keep the hot water in the cup, so the cup stays warm.
• Caution: Prevent burns. Do not touch the hot parts and water; these are very hot.
Making espresso
• First pre-heat the cup as described in “Pre-heating”.
• Remove the funnel O by turning it clockwise to the “Insert” position.
