Sectioning hair
In order to achieve your preferred style with your InStyler, it is important to know how
to section the hair properly.
With longer hair, rst clip up the top layers of hair and begin sectioning and
styling the under layers of hair.
To achieve the best possible results, do not use the ngers to gather together a
section of hair. Instead use a sectioning comb to gather a much “cleaner” section
of hair.
Start with a 2.5 to 7 cm wide section of hair, working from each side of the head
down towards the nape of the head and neck.
When styling the hair, grip the InStyler rmly, but not too tightly. Let your hair glide
through it. Let the InStyler do the work for you.
Straightening
1. Separate the hair using a separating comb.
2. Position the InStyler so that the side with the rotating barrel is close to your scalp
(see illustration 3).
3. Gently close the InStyler on the section of hair. Start at the hair roots and let the
InStyler glide softly through the hair to the tips.
TIP: to straighten hair from the roots, simply glide the InStyler using just its hot barrel
(see illustration 4). Do not close the appliance on the hair. Take care to avoid burn-
ing your scalp.
Flick out
1. Gently close the InStyler on a section of hair, with the heated barrel on the
“outside” of the section. Glide the InStyler slowly through the hair from the roots to
the tips. (see illustration 5)
2. Just before you reach the end of the hair section, rotate your wrist, so the inStyler’s
brush is turned away from your face. Allow the heated barrel to rotate for 3-5
minutes in the ends of the hair, before gently releasing the hair. (see illustration 6)
3. The more you rotate your wrist, the more tension will be applied to the barrel and
you will achieve more dened waves. Coarser or thicker hair may need this
process to be repeated 3 times.
Curl under
1. Gently close the selected section of hair in the InStyler, with the barrel positioned
side on towards the face.
2. Slowly glide the InStyler down through the hair from roots to the tips. (see illustra-
tion 7)
