INTRODUCTION

To get the best out of your new appliance, please read this

userguidecarefullybeforeusingtheappliancefortherst

time. Take particular note of the safety precautions. We

also recommend that you keep the instructions for future

reference, so that you can remind yourself of the functions

of your appliance.

modiedasthiscouldcausepersonalinjuryand

damage to the appliance itself. The appliance meets

theEUlow-voltagedirective(73/23/EF)andtheEMC

directive (89/336/EF).

• Fordomesticuseonly.Notforoutdoororcommercial

use.

• Forconnectionto230V,50Hzonly.

• Donotimmersetheappliance,cordorpluginwater

and make sure no water enters the appliance.

• Nevertouchtheappliance,cordorplugwithwetor

damp hands.

• Donotexposetodirectsunlight,hightemperatures,

humidity, dust or corrosive substances.

• Neverallowchildrentoplaywiththetemperature

regulator button or the appliance itself.

• Theapplianceisnottobeusedbypersonswith

reduced sensitivity, physical or mental disabilities or

persons who are unable to use the appliance, unless

supervised or instructed by a person responsible for

their safety.

Installing the appliance

• Takecarewhenmovingtheappliance.Itisveryheavy.

• Donotliftorcarrytheappliancebythehandleonthe

door, or by the compressor and condensator at the

rear of the appliance.

• Donottiptheapplianceatanangleofmorethan45º

when moving. Avoid knocks and bumps.

• Anyelectricalworkrequiredinconnectionwiththe

installation of this appliance should be carried out by a

qualiedelectrician.

• Theappliancemustnotbeinstalledclosetosources

ofheat,hotobjects,openre,gasringsorelectrical

hotplates.

• Placetheapplianceonaat,levelsurfacethatis

strong enough to bear the weight of the appliance.

• Makecertainthattheappliancedoesnotrestonthe

cord.

• Theapplianceshouldbeplacedwiththerearside

against a wall.

• Theremustbeclearanceofatleast50mmfromthe

top of the appliance and 25 mm to each side of the

appliancetoensuresufcientventilation.

• Donotobstructtheventilationslotsintheappliance’s

cabinet or in the built-in cupboard (if applicable).

• Partsthatbecomehotmustnotbeexposed.

• Thecoolantsystemmustnotbetamperedwith.Take

carewhencheckingormaintainingtheappliance:the

coolant is combustible and corrosive.

• Afterinstallation,allowtheappliancetostandfor2

hours before switching it on, to allow the coolant to

settle.

Use

• Theappliancestoresupto72litres.Actualcapacity

will depend on the size and shape of your produce and

how you pack it into the appliance.

• Theapplianceisintendedforuseatambient

temperature16ºC–32ºC.Iftheambienttemperature

is outside this interval, the appliance will not function

correctly.

• Iftheambienttemperatireistoowarmforalonger

period of time, the temperature inside the appliance

willexceed-18ºC,whichmaymeanthatfoodproduce

may spoil/rot.

• Asarule,frozenfoodsmustneverberefrozenafter

thawing(seebelow:Inadvertentthawingduetopower

failure).

• Neverstoreaeratedbeveragesintheapplianceas

bottles can explode, causing damage to the appliance.

• Neverremovefrozenproducefromtheappliance

if your hands are wet or damp, as there is a risk of

frostbite.

• Neveruseelectricalappliancesinsidetheappliance.

• Neverusemechanicaltoolstoacceleratethede-icing

process.Useonlythemethodsdescribedinthese

instructions,inaccordancewiththemanufacturer’s

recommendations.

• Neverscrapeiceusingasharpinstrumentasthismay

damage the inside surfaces of the appliance.

• Neverinsertanythingintotheventilationslotsorother

openings.

• Iftheapplianceisnotinuseforanylengthoftime,it

mustbeemptiedcompletely.Switchofftheappliance

andremovetheplugfromthewallsocket.De-iceand

clean the appliance as described below and leave

the door open to avoid odours forming inside the

appliance.

Cord and plug

• Switchtheapparatusoffandremovetheplugfromthe

wall socket before cleaning, de-icing or maintenance.

Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from

the socket. Instead, hold the plug. When the appliance

has been switched off, always wait at least 5 minutes

before reconnecting.

• Checkregularlythatneithercordnorplugisdamaged.

Donotuseiftheyaredamagedoriftheappliancehas

been dropped or damaged in any other way.

• Ifeithertheappliance,cordorplughasbeendamaged,

have the appliance inspected and if necessary repaired

by an authorised repairer. Always use authorised spare

parts. Never try to repair the appliance yourself. Please

contact the store where you bought the appliance

forrepairsundertheguarantee.Unauthorisedrepairs

ormodicationstotheappliancewillinvalidatethe

guarantee.
