Instructions for adjusting power steering cables
Power steering cables can be adjusted to improve performance of steering
system. The cable has an in-line adjuster (A) that can be turned to shorten
or lengthen the cable extension.
1. Stand the snow thrower on the front of the auger housing.
2. Remove wheels or tracks from axles. To remove tracks it is necessary
to remove the cross bar that connects the two track frames together.
Remove screws on each end of the cross bar.
3. Remove the plastic power steering cover (B).
NOTE: The position of the steering bellcrank (C) is critical in the operation
of the steering system. If it is positioned too high, the steering system will
automatically disengage itself while driving, giving the operator the impres-
sion of wheel slippage. If the bellcrank (C) is positioned too low, it may be
very difficult to disengage the steering clutch while driving, or it may also
disengage itself. The correct setting of the bellcrank (C) will give optimum
performance.
NOTE: Bellcrank (C) positioned too high (1), causing clutch (D) to disengage
while driving and giving appearance of wheel slip.
NOTE: Bellcrank (C) positioned too low (2), causing hard disengagement
or self-disengagement while driving.
NOTE: Bellcrank (C) positioned correctly (3). The bottom of the bellcrank
(C) is horizontal, in a position parallel to the top of the steering clutch (D).
The steering yoke (E) top edge is in line with the middle of the flat vertical
surface of the bellcrank (C). The bellcrank (C) in the correct position as
shown from the end view (4).
4. Adjust the position of the steering bellcrank (C) by turning the adjuster (A)
to raise or lower the bellcrank (C). When the bellcrank (C) is positioned
correctly, replace the plastic power steering cover (B) and the wheel or
track.
5. Repeat the procedure for the opposite side.
Anweisungen zur Einstellung der Servolenkungskabel
Die Servolenkungskabel können für die Verbesserung der Leistung des
Lenksystems eingestellt werden. Das Kabel ist mit einem integrierten Ver-
stellmechanismus (A) ausgestattet, der so gedreht werden kann, dass die
Kabelverlängerung dadurch verkürzt bzw. verlängert wird.
1. Stellen Sie den Schneeräumer auf die Vorderseite des Auger-Gehäuses.
2. Bauen Sie die Räder oder Raupen/Spurschienen von den Achsen ab.
Zum Abbau der Raupen/Spurschienen muss der Querholm ausgebaut
werden, der die beiden Raupen-/Spurschienenhälften verbindet. Lösen
Sie die Schrauben an jedem Ende des Querholms.
3. Entfernen Sie die Kunststoffabdeckung (B) der Servolenkung.
HINWEIS: Die Position der Lenkhebelwange (C) ist für die Funktionsweise
des Lenksystems von entscheidender Bedeutung. Ist die Lenkhebelwange
zu hoch eingestellt, klinkt sich das Lenksystem automatisch während der
Fahrt aus, so dass der Bediener den Eindruck bekommt, dass die Räder
durchrutschen. Ist die Lenkhebelwange (C) hingegen zu tief eingestellt,
kann es während der Fahrt sehr schwierig sein, die Kupplung der Lenkung
zu lösen, oder aber diese löst sich von selbst. Die korrekte Einstellung der
Lenkhebelwange (C) ist demnach für die optimale Leistung entscheidend.
HINWEIS: Ist die Hebelwange (C) zu hoch (1) eingestellt, klinkt sich die
Kupplung (D) während der Fahrt aus, und der Bediener hat den Eindruck,
dass die Räder durchrutschen.
HINWEIS: Ist die Hebelwange (C) zu tief (2) eingestellt, klinkt sich die Len-
kungskupplung ruckartig beim Fahren aus, oder sie klinkt sich von selbst aus.
HINWEIS: Hebelwange (C) korrekt (3) positioniert. Die Unterseite der He-
belwange (C) befindet sich in waagerechter Position, parallel zur Oberseite
der Lenkkupplung (D). Die Oberkante des Lenkungsgelenks (E) ist auf die
Mitte der flachen vertikalen Fläche der Hebelwange (C) ausgerichtet. Die
Hebelwange (C) befindet sich in der korrekten Position wie in der Endan-
sicht (4) gezeigt.
4. Stellen Sie die Position der Lenkhebelwange (C) durch entsprech-
endes Drehen des Verstellmechanismus (A) so ein, dass dadurch die
Hebelwange (C) angehoben oder abgesenkt wird. Befindet sich die
Hebelwange (C) in der korrekten Position, bauen Sie die Kunststof-
fabdeckung (B) der Servolenkung wieder am Rad bzw. an der Raupe/
Schiene an.
5. Wiederholen Sie diesen Vorgang auf der anderen Seite.
