What is the cooling technology that is used and is it dangerous to health??
The Home Electronics air conditioner is equipped with a powerful compressor that uses the refrigerant type
R407c. This is the most environment-friendly type of freon currently available on the market. For the exact
working of the air conditioner and the cooling technology in general, we would like to refer you to the
general working of an air conditioner, described further on.
Where does the moisture/water that is removed from the air go??
The water that is removed from the air in the de-humidification and cooling position is immediately re-
evaporated and then passed outside the room via the discharge hose. A maximum of 1.8 litres of moisture
can be removed from the air every hour. This of course depends on the air humidity percentage inside the
room. On extremely humid days, a little condensate may even collect around the air outlet. This is a normal
phenomenon. This condensate may be removed with a tissue.
How is it that I hear the sound of flowing water in my air conditioner??
This is fine, it is the sound of the refrigerant during circulation.
I find a non-uniform distribution of ice on the evaporator, is this true??
This is true and happens because a relatively cold liquid flows into the bottom of the evaporator while hot
air leaves from the top. This is a principle of operation in cooling technology.
TIP: An excess of ice formation may adversely affect the capacity of the air conditioner. It is also recom-
mended that if there is too much ice on the outer side, the equipment should be allowed to defrost.
Attention!!! Do not use the air conditioner in temperatures of 18°C or lower, otherwise the evaporator will
freeze up and irreparable damage may be caused.
Can be filter be washed out??
Yes, the filter can easily be washed out. You can clean the filter again using a lukewarm soap solution (do
not use chemicals). Ensure that your filter remains clean. A clean filter will not only give you an optimum
cooling result, but will also reduce energy consumption (upto 6% in comparison to a blocked filter).
TIP: In order to ensure the optimum working of the air conditioner, it is recommended that this should be
done at least once every 14 days. If the air conditioner is used intensively, we recommend a cleaning cycle of
once every 7 days. New filters can be ordered separately via the Helpdesk Service line (0900 2025 194
20cpm).
I hear a knocking sound, is this correct??
The knocking sound comes from the compressor and will always be heard when it is in operation. The noise
generated by the fan and the compressor is well below the generally applicable standard and your air con-
ditioner may be termed low-noise in its class. If you hear the compressor stop and find that only ventilation
is taking place, it means that the temperature setting has been reached. The compressor shall automatically
switch-on again when the setting temperature is exceeded.
A light crackling sound is also heard when the air conditioner is in operation. This is due to the temperature
variation in the equipment itself. This will not have any effect on your air conditioner.
GUARANTEE:
The air conditioner has a full Manufacturer’s Guarantee of 3 years.
