Follow the following fish catching rules:
• You may not move Betty with your hand
• You may only pull at the end of the cord when it is wound around the
peg.
• You may change the place of the peg as many times as you want, thus
pulling Betty in different directions
• Of course you can stand up and move around the table while playing
• Help Betty catch as many fish as possible on the game board. A fish
that drops off the board cannot be returned to the game board.
Hurry up – as the other players will be keeping an eye on the hourglass.
The last grain has passed through the hourglass?
Whoever notices it, shouts loudly “Stop, Betty!” Paula
immediately has to put aside the cord, and can put in
front of her all the fish Betty has caught. The remaining
ones on the game board are returned to the provisions.
Then it’s the turn of the next player, in a clockwise
direction, to take on the role of Paula. Betty is placed
back into the center of the game board and the other
players again put eight fish on the game board.
End of the Game
The game ends when all the players have each had the opportunity to
play “Paula” once. Everybody puts their fish* in a pile. Whoever has the
highest pile, wins the game. In the event of a draw there are various
winners.
* Info: Fish are an important part of the diet of whales. In their
search for food Blue Whales can dive up to 350 feet (105 m)
deep, they hold their breath during the entire dive. They can dive
for up to one hour. Once they come up, they breathe fresh air.
The exhaled air heats up so much in the body that a steam
column of a height of up to 40-50 feet (12-15 m) can emerge
when it clashes with the colder outside temperature. Blue whales
emit very loud sounds that can travel for many miles underwater.
They are probably the loudest animals alive…… louder than a jet
engine.
