This manual contains safety and operating instructions. Read it carefully before using the device for the rst time and
keep it in a safe place for future reference.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
STARTIUM devices are designed for charging and starting 12V (6 element) and 24V (12 element) lead acid batteries
(electrolyte, gel and AGM) :
Assembly - handle and wheels (only for the 480E, 680E & 980E) :
POWER SUPPLY
Check that the power and protection (fuse and / or circuit breaker) are compatible with the current required. The
appliance must be positioned so that the plug socket is accessible.
It must be connected to a grounded outlet according to the following recommendation:

*In the event that starting a large vehicle is troublesome it may be necessary to t a 20A plug (not included).
Recommended cable section in case of extension lead : 3 x 2.5 mm².
CONNECTION AND DISCONNECTION
IMPORTANT! Before connecting to a battery, check that the device is not connected to the power supply and the switch
is OFF.
Secondly, check the polarity of your battery (the fuse breaks if the polarity has been reversed).
Attention: The cables must not be pinched or in contact with hot or sharp surfaces.• The device does not automatically
select the voltage of the battery. Ensure that the battery is connected according to the correct voltage, either 12 or 24V.
Starting and charging a battery connected on the vehicle :
Where the negative pole of the battery is connected to the vehicle chassis
• Connect the red clamp to the positive pole of the battery.
• Connect the black clamp to the vehicle chassis, ensure it is not close to fuel lines and the battery.
• Connect the device to the mains.
• After use, turn the switch to OFF (if any), then disconnect the charger from the mains supply then disconnect the black
clamp and nally the red clamp.
Some vehicles have the positive pole of the battery connected to the chassis, in this case:
• Connect the black clamp to the negative terminal of the battery.
• Connect the red clamp to the vehicle chassis, ensure it is not close to fuel lines and battery.
• Connect the device to the mains.
• After use, turn the switch to OFF (if any), then disconnect the charger from the mains supply then disconnect the red
clamp and nally the black clamp.
