Never press the forward gear and the
backward gear at the same time. The product can
be severely damaged if doing so!!!
Safety instructions for the operation
Use the product only after you have read the operating
manual carefully.
Follow all safety instructions stated in the manual.
Behave responsibly against other people.
Never try to stop the cutters or tilt the product while the
cutters are still running. Wait until the cutters stop.
If the cutters get in touch with a contaminant, please
stop the motor immediately and check the product for
damages after the cutters stop. Resume the work only
with an undamaged product.
Only walk during work. Do not run.
On slopes, always work in cross direction and never in
upward or downward direction. Be very careful while
changing direction.
While crossing areas which are not planted with glass and
during transport to and from the work area, the cutters may
not be running.
Operation
- Set the desired cutting height over the runners.
- Set the switch to position “ON“
- For cold start, press “CHOKE“
- Set gas pedal to middle position
- Start with reserve starter
- Switch off “CHOKE“
- Give full throttle
- Operate gear for forward or backward movement
- Start with the mowing
As soon as the gas pedal is pressed, the cutters will start to
work.
In order to switch off the motor, set the switch to the position
OFF.
In order to move the sickle-bar mower while the motor is
switched off, remove all splint pins on the wheels, press the
wheel in direction of the product and push the splint pin back
into the spindle. (Fig. 4). Process in the reserve order in order
to re-activate the wheel drive.
Residual risks and protective measures
1. Mechanical residual risks:
Cutting, trimming:
The running cutters can lead to severe cutting injuries
and cutting off of body parts.
Æ Always wear protective gloves. Never engage in
the running machine.
Catch, rolling-up:
The cutters can catch cords, wires or pieces of
clothing.
Æ Search the area for possible contaminants. Keep
away from fences and wear tight-fitting clothes.
2. Electrical residual risks:
Direct electrical contact:
The touch of the spark plug connector while the motor
is still running may lead to an electric shock.
Æ Do not touch the spark plug connector while the
motor is running.
3. Thermal residual risks:
Burns, frostbites:
The touch of the exhaust may lead to burns.
Æ Let the product cool down.
4. Risks caused by noise:
Hearing loss:
Frequent or lang-time work with the product without
hearing protection can lead to hearing loss.
Æ Use hearing protection.
5. Risks caused by vibration:
Full-body vibration
Long-time work with the machine can lead to body
impairments through vibration.
Æ Have pause regularly.
6. Risks caused by materials and other substances:
Contact, inhalation:
The inhalation of the exhaust gases can be very
harmful to health.
Æ The product may be only used outdoors.
Fire or explosion:
The product will be driven with a easily inflammable
fuel mixture, which can be ignited during refueling for
example.
Æ Do not fuel near open fire and do not smoke while
refueling.
7. Other risks:
Ejected objects or liquids:
Ejected stones or soil can lead to injuries.
Æ Make sure that no other people stay within the
work area and use personal protective equipment.
Maintenance and care
Safety instructions for the inspection and maintenance:
Only a regularly maintained and well serviced product can be
a satisfactory tool. Lack of maintenance and care can lead to
unexpected accidents and injuries.
For all activities on the product, always shut down
the motor and remove the spark plug connector!
Never use sharp cleaning tools for any kinds of
cleaning. This can lead to damages or destroy of
the product.
Inspection and maintenance plan
1. Before start of work:
Check for loosened parts
Check oil level and replenish oil if necessary
Check tire pressure (for this, refer to the instructions
on the tires)
Lubricate eccentric
Lubricate cutter bar
2. Every 25 operating hours
