Ventilation
IMPORTANT ! Do not cover Voltage Changer (e.g. with a
scarf) and remove all things in the radius of 50 cm .This
safety measures are necessary to protect the device against
overheating.
Assembly and First Putting into Operation
,
# 69010 is to be connected with the 12 V battery by means of
the cigarette lighter or by means of the adapter with 12 V
battery.
Explanation to the Figure.:
An-/ Aus-Schalter -switch ON/OFF
Betriebsanzeige - indicator of operating condition
Niederspannung - low voltage
Steckdose - socket
Anschlüsse - connections
Sicherung - fuse
Ventilator - fan
12 V bartery should supply 11 to 15 V voltage and
sufficient current. To receive rough calculation of the
current capacity, divide the input power of the appliance
in watts by ten (10), and you will get approximate
calculation of necessary number of Amperes. Example:
300 W appliance.
Input power 30 Amperes (300:10).
The Voltage Changer shall be placed on flat base, if
possible (e.g. the seat or the floor), the place of location
shall meet also following conditions:
In dry: Keep the device in safe distance from water. The
device shall be placed so that spraying or dropping
water could not get into it.
In cold: Environment temperature shall be in range
between 10 °C to 26 °C. Do not place convertor near the
heating devices or venting holes. Prevent impact of
direct sunshine.
Ventilation: Keep the distance for ventilation, at least 3
cm from the surrounding, so that sufficient ventilation
may be guaranteed. Never cover the ventilating holes.
Securing: Never place the Voltage Changer in vicinity of
flammable explosive and easy to ignit materials and
liquids. Never install the device when driving. The design
of the terminals and the length of cables are not
designed for this purpose.
The device shall not be used on positively earthed
electric systems.
The device may be connected to power source only
when it is switched off.
Connect the Voltage Changer with the 12V battery by
means of the supplied cigarette lighter adapter (only at
the assortiment position number 69010) or by means of
terminals. Use always only one connecting cable, never
both cables in the same time. When using adapter,
insert the adapter simply into a suitable socket/cigarette
lighter. When using terminals, make sure the
individual connections are correctly poled! The red
terminal (positive pole) shall be connected to
corresponding positive pole of 12 V battery and black
terminal (negative pole) to negative pole. When using
the terminals the car shall not be in motion. Before
driving on the terminals shall be removed.
If the Voltage Changer is not to be used for a longer
period of time, disconnect the Changer from the battery
system.
When the buzzer start to sound, proceed as follows:
switch dhe device off, disconnect the Voltage Changer
from the battery system and switch again the engine of
your car. The alarm sound refer to indication Lo-Bat and
indicates that the battery voltage is low. Should you fail
to switch the engine again and use on the Voltage
Changer, it will switch off automatically. Therefore the
battery of your car will have only about 10.5 V/DC. This
is sufficient for repeatedly switching the engine and use
of Voltage Changer. This is how you may avoid empty
battery.
It would be better to let the engine run for 10 to 20
minutes whenever the Voltage Changer has been used
for 2 to 3 hours. Then the battery can be charged again
and the enormous discharging may be prevented.
Make sure that the Voltage Changer is disconnected
from the battery before you start using charging device
for putting the battery into operative condition again.
Should you fail to do so and should you simply connect
the charging device, it may cause peak voltage that may
damage the Voltage Changer. – THEN THE
GUARANTEE EXPIRES!
Make sure the voltage never exceed value of 15VDC –
THE VOLTAGE CHANGER MIGHT BE DAMAGED –
THE GUARANTEE EXPIRES!
Please observe following when connecting a device to
the Voltage Changer: in many devices the nominal
output and NOT starting-up output is given. The Voltage
Changers are furnished with the overvoltage protection
so that the connected devices may sometimes start up
with difficulties or cannot start up at all. Read carefully
the Operation Manual of your device so that you may get
to know the maximum output, or contact the
Manufacturer.
Electric residual dangers
Direct electric contact
Defective cable or plug may cause electric accident.
Defective cable or plug shall always be replaced by a
specialist.
Indirect electric contact
Injury caused by parts under voltage on open electric
parts or on defective parts
At maintenance works the plug shall always be pulled out of
the network.
Unpro
per local lighting
Insufficient lighting represents high safety risk.
When working with the device sufficient lighting shall be
ensured.
Heat residual dangers
Burn
Touch on the Voltage Changer during its operation and during
the coolling stage may cause burn.
Let the devices after operation get cool first.
How to proceed in emergency
Introduce the first aid measures that are necessary
according to the injury and call qualified medical aid as
soon as possible.
Secure the injured against any other damage and put him in
restive conditions.
Disposal
For disposal of the device contact your local dealer or local
recycling enterprise. The device shall not be under any
circumstances disposed of in common domestic refuse! Do
