Preparation
Preparing Espresso
1. Fill the water tank (2) (see the “Handling and Operation” chapter – “Filling the Water
Tank”).
2. Switch on the device by pressing the
On / Off switch (10). The operating lamp
lights up and the device heats up to around 90 – 100°C.
PLEASE NOTE: The
espresso button (11) must be switched off before the de-
vice is switched on, otherwise the brewing process starts immediately.
3. Fill the sieve insert (14) in the portafi lter (8) with espresso powder (see the “Handling
and Operation” chapter – “Filling the Portafi lter”).
4. Insert the portafi lter into the device (see the “Handling and Operation” chapter – “In-
serting the Portafi lter into the Device”).
5. Place one or two suitable cup(s) on the storage plate (7) under the portafi lter.
With two cups make sure that they are each positioned next to each other below
an outlet under the portafi lter.
6. As soon as the espresso control lamp
lights up, start the brewing process by
pressing the
espresso button. The device starts the brewing process, and water
runs through the portafi lter into the cup.
7. Once the desired amount of espresso has run into the cup, press the
espres-
sobutton again to stop the brewing process. The device switches to stand-by mode
and no more water runs through the portafi lter.
8. After use, press the On / Off switch to switch off the device. The operating lamp
goes out.
If the device is not switched off manually, it automatically switches off after 30
minutes in stand-by mode.
Preparing Milk Froth
1. Fill the water tank (2) (see the “Handling and Operation” chapter – “Filling the Water
Tank”).
2. Switch on the device by pressing the
On / Off switch (10). The operating lamp
lights up and the device heats up to around 90 – 100°C.
PLEASE NOTE: The
espresso button (11) must be switched off before the de-
vice is switched on, otherwise the brewing process starts immediately.
3. Press the
steam button (12) to start the heating process. The device heats up.
As soon as a suffi cient temperature is reached, the steam control lamp
lights up.
PLEASE NOTE: The steam power control (4) must be turned all the way to the right
to prevent an unwanted emission of steam.
4. Direct the steam nozzle (5) towards the drip tray (6) or into an empty vessel.
5. Pour milk at fridge temperature with a fat content of at least 2% to a level of roughly
two-thirds in a container with a handle for frothing.
PLEASE NOTE: The container must be large enough as the milk will expand when
it froths up.
