The following measurements can be performed in accordance
with the above mentioned standard:
Protective conductor measurement R PE
(
permanent connection or
with plug
)
Part 1: test current: 200 mA DC
Insulation measurement R ISO
(not required if there is any danger of damaging voltage-sensitive
components in data processing equipment)
Protective conductor current measurement
with the following measuring methods:
– Direct measurement
– Alternative measurement (Equivalent leakage current)
– Differential current measuring method current
The test is required for all safety class I devices under test:
For which insulation resistance cannot be measured and
– At which all exposed conductive parts are connected to the
protective conductor
– If mains plugs without fixed polarity are used, they must be
tested in both positions.
Touch current measurement
with the following measuring methods:
– Direct measurement
– Alternative measurement (Equivalent leakage current)
– Differential current measuring method current
Testing is required for all devices under test:
For which insulation resistance cannot be measured and
– Which include exposed conductive parts which are
not
connected to the protective conductor.
– If mains plugs without fixed polarity are used, they must be
tested in both positions.
Testing safety class I and II data processing equipment and office
machines as individual devices and in combination with one
another.
The following measurements can be performed in accordance
with the above mentioned standard:
Protective conductor measurement R PE
(
permanent connection
or with plug
)
Test current: DC ±200 mA
Housing leakage current I T
According to DIN VDE 0701-0702, the device protective con-
ductor must be tested after maintenance, repair or modifica-
tion of data processing equipment and office machines, and
exposed, conductive parts must be tested for the absence of
voltage. This applies to:
Safety class I devices for all exposed, conductive parts which
are accessible to the user, and which are not connected to the
protective conductor
Safety class II devices (totally insulated devices) for all ex-
posed, conductive parts which are accessible to the user, with
the mains plug poled in both directions.
