NOTE
The temperature gauge is operated independently and shows the actual temperature
of the water system even when the appliance is unplugged. Thus, via the tempe-
rature gauge, you can check, whether the water system cooled down sufficiently.
1. Switch off the appliance and unplug. Wait until the temperature reading drop-
ped below 40°C (approx. 30 minutes).
2. Use a small SOFT nylon brush for removing any particles from the splash screen
and the sealing ring of the group head.
3. Then carefully wipe the bottom of the group head using a soft, fluff-free, damp cloth.
4. Ensure that the water tank is filled and the drip tray is empty. Ensure that the
espresso button and steam button are NOT pressed (level off with the power
button) and the steam dial is closed (position “0”). Connect the appliance to the
mains power supply and press the power button for switching on. Wait until the
green espresso indicator illuminates.
5. Purge the splash screen within the group head by pressing the espresso button
repeatedly for letting hot water flow through the group head in some short cycles.
6. Before continuing according to the following sections: switch off and unplug the
appliance. Wait for the appliance to cool down.
CLEANING THE DRIP TRAY
The drip tray should be removed at the latest, when the filling indicator comes up.
Empty and clean the drip tray daily after switching off the appliance.
IMPORTANT - The water in the drip tray may be hot. Handle with care. Carefully
pull out the drip tray to avoid spilling water onto the base of the appliance. This
holds especially when the drip tray is full up. For cleaning, do not use abrasive
cleaners, pads or cloths, which can scratch the surfaces.
1. Grasp the drip tray at both sides and, holding the drip tray level, carefully pull
the drip tray upwards a little. Then take the drip tray out of the appliance. Remo-
ve the cup tray.
2. Empty the drip tray in the sink. Dispose of residues of coffee powder in domestic
waste.
IMPORTANT - There are two small pins holding the float of the filling indicator in
place. When the float does not move freely up and down, you may take out the
float for cleaning the guiding posts of the float.
