WARNING: When filling the cooking pot, do not exceed the maximum amounts
given for the several food types in chapter ‘Tips for Best Results’. Otherwise, the food
could overflow during cooking and splashes and foam could clog the valves in the
lid, causing the build-up of hazardous pressure. Ensure not to spill any liquids or
food in the heating compartment to avoid overheating, fire and electric shock.
5. Except for the functions SEAR and SAUTÉ, fill the cooking pot with your food.
Always adhere to the maximum filling levels for the different types of food given
in this booklet. Adapt your recipe accordingly (see: ‘Tips for Best Results’ and
‘Pre-Defined Settings Overview’). However, ensure that the amount of combined
food and liquids reaches at least the MIN filling level in the cooking pot (approx.
1 litre).
6. Thoroughly wipe the exterior of the cooking pot dry
and clean. Then place the cooking pot into the hea-
ting compartment. The brim of the cooking pot will
lay flat approx. 1 cm (1/3 inch) above the brim
of the heating compartment when having proper
contact to the heating plate and temperature pro-
be.
7. Ensure that the power socket at the rear of the appliance and the entire power
cord are clean and completely dry. Then insert the smaller plug of the power
cord into the power socket at the rear of the appliance. Only the correct plug
can be inserted in the correct orientation. Insert the power plug into a suitable
wall power outlet (see: ‘Important Safeguards for Electrical Appliances’).
The cooker will sound a beep and the LCD screen will illuminate. The functions
will appear with an indicator on the PRESSURE COOK function.
The Multicook is now ready for operation.
PRESSURE COOKING
The PRESSURE COOK function is great for cooking delicious roasts, casseroles,
soups, and even desserts in a fraction of the time and energy they take by conven-
tional methods. Pressure cooking is a method of cooking food in a small amount of
liquid within a sealed heating compartment that retains steam inside and builds up
pressure. It is the increase in pressure that raises the boiling temperature of the liquid
inside and therefore allows food to be cooked up to 70% faster.
WARNING: During operation, even the exterior of the appliance will get hot, and
steam will come out of the valves and the safety locking pin in the lid. Do not hold
your hands, arms and face over the appliance during operation. Do not place any
objects (e.g. clothes) on the lid of the appliance during operation. Beware of hot
condensate, steam, and hot food, when opening the lid, or when serving hot dishes.
