3. Clean the dipstick (17) with a clean rag, and with the hedge trimmer still
standing vertical, enter the dipstick (17) until the thread on the dipstick
(17) makes contact with the thread on the hedge trimmer. DO NOT
thread in. Hold the dipstick (17) in place for a few seconds and then read
the oil level on the dipstick (17).
4. If the oil level is close or below the low level mark on the dipstick (17)
(Fig F), top up the oil to just below the thread entry.
5. When the oil level is correct, replace the dipstick (17) and tighten rmly in
a clockwise direction
IMPORTANT: Ensure the hedge trimmer is vertical and not leaning to
one side when adding or checking the oil level. Do Not over ll.
Fuelling
IMPORTANT: Fuel goes o after about 3-4 months. If you nd your unit does
not start, rst change the fuel in the tank with newly purchased fuel.
WARNING: Do not rell fuel tank while engine is running or is hot. Move at
least 10m away from the refuelling site before starting engine.
NOTE. Do not use fuel that contains ethanol. Use fresh unleaded fuel.
Do not smoke when refuelling or operating the product.
Be careful not to admit dust, dirt, water or other foreign objects into
the fuel.
Wipe o spilt fuel thoroughly before starting engine.
Ensure you DO NOT fuel the unit in close proximity to any open ames, lit
cigarettes, or hot objects.
1. Place the hedge trimmer upright on the ground or on a sturdy bench and
wipe any debris from around the fuel cap (16).
2. Unscrew the fuel tank cap (16) and pour fresh
unleaded fuel into the tank with the aid of a
funnel or spout (Fig. G)
NOTE: The fuel tank capacity is 450mL. Be careful
not to spill any mixture. If this happens, wipe the
spill with a clean rag.
3. Replace the fuel cap (16) taking care NOT to cross thread the cap on the
fuel tank (15). Tighten the cap rmly in a clockwise direction.
4. When starting the engine ensure it is at least 10m away from the area
where the fuel tank (15) has been lled up in order to avoid any risk of re.
Always use extreme care when handling fuel! Fuel is highly ammable.
Never attempt to fuel the product if the fuel system components are
damaged or are leaking.
Never attempt to refuel the engine while it is running or still warm, allow it
to cool before fuelling.
Never smoke or light any res near the product or fuels.
Always transport and store fuels in an approved container.
Never place ammable material close to the engine muer.
Never operate the product without a properly functioning muer and
spark plug cover installed.
Never operate the product unless it is properly assembled and in good
working condition.
Do not use fuel which contains ethanol or methanol as it may damage the
fuel lines and other engine parts. Use fresh unleaded fuel.
Do NOT use 2 stroke oil or mix the fuel and oil. This is a 4 stroke unit that
requires 4 stroke oil to be lled in the oil reservoir, and fresh unleaded fuel
to the fuel tank.
Starting the Hedge Trimmer - Starting A Cold Engine
WARNING: Ensure the blade cover (21) is removed before attempting to
start the hedge trimmer.
WARNING: Ensure the engine has been lled with 80mL of SAE 10W/30
BEFORE starting, and 450ml of fresh unleaded fuel has been added to the
fuel tank. Do not use ethanol based fuels.
Do NOT mix oil with fuel. Oil must be separately poured into the oil
reservoir (17).
