Filling up with Fuel and Oil
IMPORTANT: This is a 4 stroke engine and does not require mixing any oil
with the fuel. The oil for the engine and also the chain / bar oil is from the one
oil tank located at the front of the chainsaw - the combination oil tank (6).
EVERY time fuel is added to the chainsaw fuel tank (8), the combination oil
tank (6) should be lled with 4 stroke engine oil.
WARNING: Fuel is very ammable. Avoid smoking or causing any
sparks or ames near fuel. Make sure that you stop the engine and
allow it to cool before refuelling the machine. Select outdoor bare
ground for fuelling and move at least 15 metres away from the fuelling point
before starting the engine.
It is suggested to wear safety glasses when adding fuel or oil.
Only use oil that is expressly labelled for use with air-cooled 4-stroke
engines. We recommend good quality 4 stroke engine oil.
Use fresh unleaded fuel. Do not use ethanol based fuels.
Poor quality fuel or oil may damage sealing rings, fuel lines or the fuel tank.
Only use new 4 stroke engine oil in this chainsaw.
DO NOT use waste or regenerated oil on the chainsaw or damage to the
engine will result.
CAUTION. To maximise the lifetime of the engine, avoid the following:
Do not use raw fuel, it will severely damage the engine very quickly.
ONLY use clean fresh unleaded fuel which has NOT been mixed with oil.
ONLY use 4 stroke engine oil in the front combination oil tank (6) which
supplies both the chain and also the engine with oil.
Do not run the combination oil tank (6) dry. Always ll the combination oil
tank (6) every time fuel is added to the fuel tank (8).
Do not run the tank dry at speed high, as this may cause damage to the
engine.
Do not use oil meant for 2-stroke engines, it will cause spark plug fouling,
exhaust blocking and piston ring sticking.
Do not use fuel that has been left standing for one month or more, as it
can cause clogging of the carburettor.
Before storing the chainsaw for an extended period, empty the fuel tank
(8), clean it then run the engine at idle to empty the carburettor.
NOTE: Do not discard an unwanted fuel container with household waste.
It must be taken to an authorised repository site.

Fuelling the Chainsaw
WARNING: Always ensure the engine is
turned o before undertaking this task.
Never add fuel to a machine with a running or hot
engine. Move at least 15m away from the on one line
site before starting engine.
Do not smoke when refuelling or operating the
chainsaw.
1. Rest the chainsaw on its side so the fuel tank (8)
is facing up, on the ground or a secure surface
and wipe any debris from around the fuel tank (8),
and the combination oil tank (6).
2. On this chainsaw, the combination oil tank cap
(7) is used to unscrew and open the fuel tank (8).
Remove the combination oil tank cap (7) by
rotating in an anti-clockwise direction (Fig P).
Wipe the underside of the combination oil tank
cap (7) to ensure it is clean and dry.
NOTE: Ensure you follow fuelling the chainsaw
with lling the combination oil tank (6) with good
quality 4 stroke oil per the instructions that follow
this section. The purpose of using the
combination oil tank cap (7) to open the fuel tank
cap (9) is to ensure you ll the fuel tank (8), and
then ll the combination oil tank (6). This should
be performed EVERY time the chainsaw is fueled.
3. Using the triangular shaped underside of the
combination oil tank cap (7), apply it onto the
fuel tank cap (9) and rotate in an anti-clockwise
direction to remove the fuel tank cap (9) (Fig Q).
4. With the aid of a funnel, pour fresh unleaded fuel
into the fuel tank (8) to approximately 80% of its
capacity (Fig R).
WARNING: Do not use ethanol based fuels.
Do not mix fuel and oil.
NOTE: Be careful not to spill any mixture. If this
happens, wipe the spill with a clean rag.
