Care and cleaning
In this chapter you will find tips on how to maintain
and clean your appliance correctly.
ã Risk of burns!
The appliance becomes hot during operation. Allow
the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
ã Risk of electric shock!
Do not use high pressure washers or steam cleaners
to clean the appliance.
ã Risk of burns!
Splashing and steam occur when water or ice cubes
are poured onto the hot frying surface.
Cleaning the appliance
Clean the appliance after every use once it has cooled
down. Burnt in residues may be difficult to remove.
Remove food remnants with the spatula.
Ice cubes are more suitable to clean the frying surface
than water, as they will cause less splashing and less
steam will occur.
Thoroughly remove any residues of cleaning agents
before frying again.
Cleaning the warm appliance
1 Switch off the appliance. Leave to cool for at least
15 minutes!
2 Pour some ice cubes or water onto the frying
surface. Add a few drops of wahing-up liquid.
Leave to soak.
3 Wait until the heat warning light ¡ goes off
before cleaning the appliance.
Cleaning the cold appliance
1 Cover the whole frying surface with some soapy
water.
2 Switch on the appliance an set to the cleaning
level ,. Leave to soak.
3 When the soiling loosens start cleaning the
appliance.
Cleaning between frying
1 Switch off the appliance.
2 Place 4 - 5 ice cubes on the frying surface and
use the spatula to push the ice cubes around the
frying surface.
3 Use the spatula to remove the loosened soiling.
4 Switch on the appliance. Wait until the heating up
light goes off before putting the food on the frying
surface.
Do not use these cleaners
scouring or chemically aggressive cleaners
do not let cleaners containing acid (e.g. vinegar,
citric acid, etc) come onto the frame or the
control panel
cleaners containing chloride or with a high
content of alcohol
oven cleaner
hard and scratchy sponges, brushes or scouring
pads
carefully rinse new sponge clothes before the
first use

Frying surface Remove greasy soiling with soapy
water.
Some food can leave white marks on
the frying surface. You can remove
these marks using lemon juice or vine-
gar. Carefully rinse afterwards with a
moist cloth.
Frying surface,
burnt-in residues
Cover stubborn soiling with our grill-
cleaning-gel while the appliance is
cold (order number 463582) and leave
for at least 2 hours, if necessary over-
night. Carefully rinse afterwards with a
moist cloth and dry. Observe the
instructions on the packaging.
Stainless-steel
frame
Clean with a soft, moist cloth and
some soapy water.
Use our stainless-steel cleaner for
stubborn soiling (order number
464524). This will give matt stainless-
steel new shine again.
Control panel Clean with a soft, moist cloth and
some soapy water; do not use too
much water. Dry with a soft cloth.
Immediately remove residues of food
containing acid from the control panel
(e. g. vinegar, ketchup, mustard, mari-
nade).
You can order a suitable care product
for the control panel (order number
311135) from your specialist retailer or
online. Apply the care product evenly
with a soft cloth on the control panel
after cleaning.
Control knobs Clean with a soft, moist cloth and
some soapy water; do not use too
much water.
