CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE (Continued)
Lamp life differs according to the lamp and the environment it is used in. The lamp may explode immediately after starting use.
When the lamp reaches the end of its service life, the image becomes dark and the colors lose their vividness. When this happens, change
the lamp unit.
Replace with a new lamp unit when the replace lamp message appears. The old lamp may explode if it continues to be used.
After removing the old lamp unit, handle with care to avoid breakage. Dispose of used lamp units as industrial waste and comply with
governmental regulations or environmental public institution's rules that apply in your country/area.
Be sure to initialize the lamp timer after changing the lamp unit.
When replacing the lamp unit, insert it securely. Otherwise, it may damage.
1
Unplug the power cord from the receptacle.
To turn off the power, see "TURNING THE POWER TO STANDBY" on page E-30.
2
Turn the projector upside down.
Lay a thick towel and other soft cloth under the projector lest it should get scratched.
3
Remove the two screws marked with " χ ", and
then, hold the knob of the lamp unit cover to remove
it from the projector.
To ensure safety, the safety device prevents the power from being turned on
accidentally during the lamp replacement work.
CHANGING THE LAMP
Warning
Do not remove any screws other than those specified (" χ " mark).
The high voltage and high temperature inside the projector may lead to electric shock or burns if touched.
When replacing the lamp unit, use only a new replacement lamp unit (LPF-QLD1WW [optional]). Using undesignated, used or second-hand lamp
units may result in the lamp exploding or cause malfunctions.
Allow the lamp to cool for more than 1 hour after switching off the power before changing.
This lamp employs a mercury lamp with high internal pressure. It may break with a large bang depending upon shock or service time because of its
property, or the time until the lamp has been worn out differs according to individual difference or service condition.
Remove two screws.
