2.2 Electrical connection
The operating voltage shown on the
rating plate must correspond to the
voltage of the mains power supply.
Make sure that the vacuum cleaner is
switched off when you plug the power
cable in.
2.3 On/off switch (1.3)
In position 0 the vacuum cleaner is switched
off and the appliance plug socket (1.8) is dead.
Before switching on, make sure that a filter
element (2.2) and a filter bag (3.3) have been
properly inserted.
Two modes of operation are possible:
a) Switch position MAN
The appliance plug socket is live.
Before turning the switch to the MAN
position, ensure that the tool
connected to the appliance plug socket
is switched off.
The cleaner motor starts immediately.
b) Switch position Auto
The appliance plug socket is live.
Before turning the switch to the Auto
position, ensure that the tool
connected to the appliance plug socket
is switched off.
The switch position and the suction hose
diameter must correspond.
The cleaner motor starts only when the tool
connected to the appliance plug socket is
switched on.
2.4 Suction force regulator (1.10)
The suction force regulator can be used to vary
the suction capacity. This permits a precise
adaptation to different substances to be picked
up.
2.5 Connecting an electric tool
Observe the maximum connected load
on the appliance plug socket (see
Technical Data)!
Connect the electric tool to the appliance plug
socket (1.8).
Make sure that the electric tool is switched off
when plugging it in and unplugging it.
2.6 Connecting pneumatic tools
Pneumatic tools used with the Festool IAS
system can also be operated with automatic
extraction. To achieve this, plug the coupling
connector from the exhaust-air line on the IAS
connecting piece into the coupling socket (1.9).
The operating pressure must be above 6 bar
to ensure perfect operation, and a silencer
must be fitted to the IAS connecting piece.
Make sure that the pneumatic tool is
switched off when plugging it in and
unplugging it.
3 Changing the filter
During the following procedure, take care not
to raise dust more than is unavoidable.
Wear a P2 breathing protection mask
with health-hazardous dusts!
3.1 Changing the filter bag
- Open locking clips (1.4), remove top section
(1.2),
- Change filter bag (3.3)  see print on filter
bag,
- Dispose of the used filter bag in accordance
with statutory requirements,
- Replace top section, close locking clips.
3.2 Changing the filter element
Do not operate machine without a filter
element. This may damage the motor.
- Open locking clips (1.4), remove top section
(1.2) and set down with the filter element
facing up (Fig. 2).
- Detach filter clamping collar (2.1) with
accompanying tool and remove together
with the filter clamping washer (2.2).
- Pull a filter protection bag over the filter
element (2.3).
- Remove filter element and close the filter
protection bag with a knot.
- Dispose of the used filter element in a sealed,
dust-tight bag in accordance with statutory
requirements,
- Insert a new filter element
- Place filter washer in position and tighten filter
clamping nut.
- Replace top section, close locking clips.
3.3 Filter cartridge
The filter cartridge (2.4) cleans the cooling air
for the motor.
To replace a dirty filter cartridge, the bracket
(2.5) must first be removed (snap-on latch).
4 Application
Before commencing work, check the flow rate
monitor: Hold the suction hose closed while
the motor is running - after approx. 10
seconds, an acoustic warning signal should
sound.
Tools and accessories can be set down on the
storage area ready to hand.
A hose holder can be inserted in the holes
(1.12) on the left and right of the handle and
at the back of the storage area. With the hose
holder, the suction hose can be linked up to
the tool from above.
An extension pipe can be clipped into the hol-
der (1.1).
