PREPARE THE WALL
1. Disconnect and move freestanding range from cabinet
opening to provide easier access to upper cabinet and rear
wall. Put a thick, protective covering over cooktop, set-in
range or countertop to protect from damage or dirt.
2. Determine and mark the centerline on the wall where the
range hood will be installed. Based on the ceiling or soffit
height, determine the distance 24" min, 30" max needed
(FIGURE 4) between the cooking surface (E in FIGURE
5) and the bottom of the rangehood. To this distance,
add 11 3⁄8" (B in FIGURE 5) and draw a horizontal line
(A in FIGURE 5) about 24" long centered on the vertical
centerline (D in FIGURE 5) at this distance.
3. Mark 2 points on each side of the (B) horizontal line 3½"
from the vertical centerline ( C in FIGURE 6). Drill 2 holes
for installation, the screws provided are for mounting the
range hood into wood; mounting into drywall or plaster is not
recommended. Install the 2 mounting screws, leave a
¹⁄₄" gap between the wall and the back of the screw
head to slide the range hood into place.
INSTALLATION DIMENSIONS
The Classica chimneys are adjustable and designed to meet varying ceiling
heights as indicated in FIGURE 4. The chimneys can be adjusted for ceil-
ings between 7' 5" and 9' 2 3/4" depending on the distance between the
bottom of the hood and the cooktop (distance x in FIGURE 4).

For shorter ceilings,
have the chimney
cover(s) cut at a sheet
metal shop. For higher
ceiling installations, the
High Ceiling Chimney
Kit includes a new 39”
upper chimney which
would replace the 15
3/4” upper chimney that
came with the hood.

4. Place one of the chimney brackets against the wall so
that its top edge is 1/16" (C) from the ceiling or soffit and
level. Align the center notches (B) of the bracket and the
centerline (A). Mark the centers of the bracket holes and
attach to the wall with 2 screws. (see FIGURE 7)
5. Place the other chimney bracket on the wall so that its
lower edge is 16 1/16" from the ceiling or soffit and level.
Align the center notches of the bracket and the centerline.
Mark the centers of the bracket holes. Attach to the wall
with 2 screws (FIGURE 8)
