4. To input a temperature offset value, press the softkey labeled Offset to open a
message box with the present offset value. Use and to position the cursor over
one of the digits or the polarity sign. Use and to scroll through the numbers for
each digit in the offset or switch between a + or – offset. With the desired value
displayed, press the softkey labeled OK to set the temperature offset.
Frequency Measurements
1. Set the function switch to the green Hz% position.
2. Insert the black test lead banana plug into the negative COM
jack. Insert the red test lead banana plug into the positive V
jack.
3. Read the Frequency in the display
Resistance Measurements
WARNING: To avoid electric shock, disconnect power to the unit under
test and discharge all capacitors before taking any resistance
measurements. Remove the batteries and unplug the line cords.
1. Set the function switch to the green CAP position.
2. Insert the black test lead banana plug into the negative COM
jack. Insert the red test lead banana plug into the positive
Jack.
3. Read the resistance in the display.
Continuity Check
WARNING: To avoid electric shock, disconnect power to the unit under

1. Set the function switch to the green CAP position.
2. Press the soft key labeled Menu. Move the menu selector to the
menu item labeled Beeper. Press the soft key Beeper.
3. Insert the black test lead banana plug into the negative COM
jack. Insert the red test lead banana plug into the positive jack.
4. If the resistance is less than approximately 25, the audible
signal will sound. If the circuit is open, the display will indicate “OL”.
Diode Test
1. Set the function switch to the green CAP position
2. Press the soft key labeled Menu. Move the menu selector to the
menu item labeled Diode. Press the soft key Diode.
3. Insert the black test lead banana plug into the negative COM
jack and the red test lead banana plug into the positive V jack.
4. Forward voltage will typically indicate 0.400 to 3.200V. Reverse
voltage will indicate “OL”. Shorted devices will indicate near 0V
and an open device will indicate “OL” in both polarities.
