ELECTRIC SAFETY
Avoid physical contact with earthed surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ovens and fridges. The risk of
electric shocks increases if your body is earthed.
Protect all electric tools from rain or humidity. When water enters electric tools, the risk of an electric
shock increases. If the use of an electric tool in a humid environment cannot be avoided, a fault current
circuit breaker must be in place in the power supply to the tool. Wear special rubber gloves and work
shoes intended for electricians in order to increase your own safety in humid environments.
Handle the cable with caution. Do not hold the cable when carrying the tool, and do not pull the cable
to disconnect the plug from the mains adapter. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, pointed edges or
moving parts. Contact customer support and do not use the saw if the cable is damaged. A damaged
cable means an increased risk of electric shocks.
Do not use the tool if it cannot be switched on or off with the push button. Tools that cannot be swit-
ched on and off using the push button are dangerous and need to be repaired.
Depending on use, the switch may need to be replaced during the life cycle of the saw. If the switch
fails in the OFF position, it may not be possible to start the saw any longer. If it no longer works while
the saw runs, the saw can no longer be switched off using the button. Immediately disconnect the
power cable of the saw from the mains adapter in such cases and do not use the saw again until it has
been repaired. Contact customer services.
When operating outdoors, an extension cable with a fuse for at least 13 ampere suitable for use out-
doors must be used. These cables are suitable for use outdoors and reduce the risk of electric shocks.
The following table shows the cable dimensions recommended.

Note: The extension cable must have a suitable wire diameter, which enables safe and effective use. (For
details in accordance with the US standard AWG or American Wire Gauge, smaller numbers indicate a higher
capacity, i.e. a 16-gauge wire has as greater capacity than an 18-gauge wire).
PERSONAL SAFETY
Do not get distracted, focus on your work and proceed with caution when operating an electric tool. Do
not use the electric tool if you are tired or if your attention is affected by drugs, alcohol or medication.
An inattentive moment can quickly result in severe injuries when operating an electric tool.
Wear appropriate clothing. Avoid loose clothing or loose jewellery. Tie up long hair when working.
Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long hair may
get caught in moving parts. Ensure that the handles are dry, clean and free from oil and grease. When
working outdoors, rubber gloves and anti-slip shoes should be worn. Wear protective headgear under
which you can hide long hair.
Avoid starting the tool accidentally. There is an increased risk of injury if you touch the on/off switch
when carrying the tool or if you connect a tool to the mains while the switch position is activated.
Remove all settings tools and wrenches before switching the device on. Wrenches and other settings
tools that are on rotating tool parts may result in injuries when switching on the tool.
Do not attempt to work on objects that are remote. Ensure that you always have a safe distance and
do not lose your balance. The tool can be netter controlled in unexpected situations if you have a firm
stand and do not lose your balance.
