INSTALLATION MANUAL
9. Appliance-specific information
!CAUTION
- The appliance-specific instructions as described in this section prevail over the instructions in the other
sections! If in doubt follow the instructions in section 9 or contact your supplier.
- The appliance-specific information as described in paragraphs 9.1 to 9.5 applies to all Instyle and Prostyle
models described in this manual. Supplementary installation instructions (per appliance) are described in
paragraph. 9.6.
Smoke control area United Kingdom
In smoke control areas in the United Kingdom the air slide valve may not be closed too far because of emission
laws. A limiting screw is accordingly supplied with all appliances. This is supplied as a kit in the combustion
chamber. This screw is therefore only used in the smoke control areas in the United Kingdom. In other countries
this screw can be disposed of in the appropriate way.
With the installation of an appliance in the United Kingdom:
Ø
Install the screw as shown in Appendix 2, Fig. 3a + 3b. After fitting, the air slide valve cannot be slid further shut
than legally allowed.
Bottom plate
A metal bottom plate is available for all models in this manual. This plate is laid flat where the installation is to be
placed before the start of installation. This bottom plate is available from your supplier.
9.1 Outside air connection, convection connection and air slide valve
9.1.1 Outside air connection
It is possible to provide the fire with an outside air connection. This outside air connection is optionally available
as an (external air) kit. This kit can be used for a connection either on the bottom or rear of the appliance and is
available through your supplier. First determine if you want a connection on the bottom or rear side.
Proceed as follows with a connection on the bottom (see Appendix 2, Fig. 4a + 4b):
Ø
Fasten the ‘pipe opening’ with 4 screws to the small housing.
Ø
Remove the 4 screws on the bottom side of the appliance.
Ø
Then bring the small housing with assembled ‘pipe opening’ against the plate on the bottom of the appliance.
Ø
Re-use the 4 screws to assemble the small housing.
Ø
Connect the flexible hose (Ø 80 mm) to the round ‘pipe opening’ of the outside air connection.
Ø
Dispose of unused parts in the appropriate way.
Proceed as follows with a connection on the rear (see Appendix 2, Fig. 4c + 4d):
Ø
Use a hammer to break the rectangular plate out of the rear of the appliance.
Ø
Also break out the side baffle in the middle of the external air kit.
Ø
Fasten the ‘pipe opening’ with 4 screws to the small housing.
Ø
Assemble the large housing on the small housing using 2 screws and set this to the correct length for the relative
appliance.
Ø
Remove the 6 screws on the bottom side of the appliance.
Ø
Then bring the outside air connection against the plate on the bottom of the appliance.
Ø
Re-use the 6 screws to assemble the external air kit.
Ø
Connect the flexible hose (Ø 80 mm) to the round ‘pipe opening’ of the outside air connection.
9.1.2 Convection air connection
It is possible to assemble a convection air connection. Then hot convection air (outflow) is taken to a ventilation
element in the chimney breast. No extra provisions are required for the inflow of cold convection air. The kit
needed for the outflow is available through your supplier.
When connecting the convection air outflow (see Appendix 2, Fig. 5a + 5b) proceed as follows:
Ø
Break the two convection openings on the top side of the appliance out with a hammer.
Ø
Place the rings on the convection openings.
Ø
Slide a heat-resistant, flexible hose (Ø 125 mm) over the ring and fasten it tight with a hose clip or a self-tapping
screw.
Ø
Connect the flexible hose to a ventilation element in the chimney breast. These accessories are available through
your supplier.
