Mounting the bodyshell and wing
s.
It is re co m m e n d e d th a t you use a lexan / polycarbonate bodyshell (n o t included) as th e y are
lightw eight and stro n g. See th e se t-up se ction later in th is manual fo r advice on bodyshell se lection
and other aerodynam ic considerations. It is advise d th a t you mark th e outside of the bodyshell with
bodypost and aerial positions, before you sp ra y paint it on th e inside. The Co
rally body mounting
posts fitte d to th e car are fu lly adjustable. The bodypost scre w s are fitte d with sleeves which have
been designed to allow th e bodyshell to float a little. This design helps in th e event of a crash or
when the bodyshell is accidentally ru n to o low .
Final checks.
BEFORE RUNNING YOUR CORALLY CAR, CHECK ALL SCREW S ARE TIGHTENED READY FO R RACE

MAINTENANCE AND SETU P TIPS.
Tw eak (left to right balance of th e car).
One of th e most important factors when racing an R/C on-ro a d car is tw e a k'. If a car is tw eaked
th e n th e car will tu rn diffe re n tly in left and right hand bends. Purposely tw e a king a car may be
advantageous when oval ra cing, but generally it is best if th e car handles exactly th e sa m e in both
left and right hand tu rns.
A car becom es tw e a ke d when th e grip or weight is no
t balanced betw een left and right hand wheels.
This may occur in se ve ra l ways.
- The chassis assem bly could be tw isted , th is is no longer com m on in modern cars, but sh o u ld be
checked after major crashes.
- The tire s on each side of th e car could be diffe re n t sizes. The outside tire generally wears more
quickly th a n th e inside tire . To prevent problem s sw ap th e tire
s fro m left to right hand sides afte r
every couple of races. Or use a tire tru e r if available.
- The su sp e n sion or ride height may not be se t th e sam e on each side of th e car. Check sp rings,
tw e a k adjuster se ttings and ride height se ttings.
- Steering movement may be diffe re n t on left and right sides.
- Tire s may be giving diffe re n t grip lev
els. Check and rep lace any th a t seem to have diffe re n t
firm n e ss on th e left or right.
- When using tire additive it is p o ssible to tw e a k th e car by accidentally applying diffe re n t am ounts
of additive to each tire be careful!
- Finally its possible fo r th e car to fe e l tw e a ke d if th e su sp e n sion does not move fre e ly. Check th a t
th e pow er wire
s to th e motor do not re strict th e re ar su sp e n sion movement and check th a t all ball
join ts move fre e ly.
