Prevent overload
Make sure that the rotation speed of the motor does not
drop too much. Allow the diamond cutting blade to cut.
The machine is equipped with a thermal circuit breaker
(#9) that switches the machine OFF in case of overloading.
Aer a short break it can be switched ON again. Please
let the machine run freely for half a minute, allowing the
motor time to cool down.
Should the thermal circuit breaker (#9) switch OFF oen,
we advice you to cut less deep or to put less pressure on
the machine. The thermal circuit breaker is switched OFF
when it is in it’s up-position. It then shows a while line
along the button.
If the thermal circuit breaker (#9) switches the machine o,
the thermal circuit breaker has to be reset. Also the main
ON/OFF switch (#13) has to be switched ON again.
Prevent pooring water in the motor.
In case of horizontal cuts, the motor must be above the
diamond cutting blade.
In case of vertical cuts, the vacuum connection (#1) needs
to be at the bottom of the blade guard. When cutting in
floors the motor absorbs a lot of water haze. It is advisable
to fix a flexible hose (± Ø 100 mm, length 2 meter) at the
suction opening of the motor so more dry air will be taken
in.
PRACTICAL TIPS
Determine where you want to have the saw cut. A lath at
2,5 cm (± 1 inch) besides the cut, will simplify the
guidance of the machine.
Hold the machine, with the edge of the bottom plate
against the wall or floor so that the diamond cutting
blade is still free. Before pressing the machine into the
material, switch the machine ON and let the diamond
cutting blade run freely to enable it to reach the maximum
speed. Please check if the diamond cutting blade is not
rotating eccentrically and is not swinging.
Before taking the diamond cutting blade out of the saw
cut, wait until the diamond cutting blade is standing still.
It is dangerous to block or to slow down the turning dia-
mond cutting blade by pushing against the diamond cut-
ting blade.
Do not cut curves.
When cutting a floor, stay in front of the machine
In case of vertical cuts put in the machine at the top and
lower it by its own weight, guided by hand.
When using the machine for extended periods of time, the
user could become tired thanks to vibrations. To avoid this
take pauses on a regular base.
EMISSION
Vibration emission value ah = 6 m/s². Uncertainty K
< 2,75 m/s².
The level of the sound pressure for machines,
developed for cutting stone and similar mate-
rials, depends on a lot of factors: type of
diamond cutting blade, the material to be
cut, the use of water.
Typically the A-weighted noise levels of the product are:
Sound pressure level 87,5 dB(A); Sound power level 91,5
dB(A). Uncertainty K=3 dB. Measured values determined
according to EN 60745-1.
according to EN 60745-1.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
According to the European regulation
2012/19/ EU, CARAT is responsible to recycle
old electric drill motors. You are therefore
requested to return old CARAT electric drill
motors to your local reseller.
SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
The wall-saw machine MZ-300/MZ-350 only
needs a limited maintenance.
It is desirable to clean the interior with compressed air
aer finishing the job.
Make sure the vent hole of the motor is kept free and
clean.
Checking the machine by a specialist is advisable aer
300 working hours.
Only use original spare parts.
Changing the carbon brushes
It is desirable to check the wear of the carbon brushes aer
100 eective working hours. Moreover check the carbon
brushes if these can still move freely in the brush holders.
Procedure:
Pull the plug out from the power supply.
Loosen the caps by using a screwdriver and take the
carbon brushes out of the machine.
If necessary, replace the carbon brushes.
Screw the caps of the carbon brushes into the machine
again.
Switch the machine ON and leave it running freely, for
approximately 10 minutes, before using it again.
FAILURES
The electromotor doesn’t start up:
1. Check the mains voltage and/or the electrical
connec tion of the motor.
2. Check if the PRCD switch (#15) is in the ON-position
3. Check if the thermal circuit breaker (#9) is not tripped
and does not show a white edge along the button.
4. Check if the cables are correctly connected.
5. Check if the carbon brushes aren’t worn out.
