11. Release the trigger; this will automatically release the the spent rivet pin, and you are
ready for the next rivet.
12. Immediately empty the safety cap if full.
13. Disconnect the tool from the compressed air supply and pull the trigger to release any
remaining compressed air from the tool before changing the nosepiece, if not in use,
after you complete your work, or before servicing your air hydraulic riveter.
Replacing the nosepiece
1. Disconnect the tool from the compressed air supply and pull the trigger a few times to
allow any remaining compressed air to escape.
2. Screw the new nosepiece into the frame head. The frame head is spring loaded, so
make sure that the nosepiece does not jump out. Screwing in a nosepiece for larger rivet
pin diameters may be a little difficult due to the heavy spring resistance. These
nosepieces have a longer design and push the jaws backwards to allow you to insert a
thicker rivet pin between the jaws.
Tip: You can make it easier to fit the nosepiece by removing the frame head before screwing
the nosepiece into it, then screwing the frame head complete with the nosepiece back onto
your riveter.
Air pressure and air volume
Your riveter should be operated at a pressure of 6.5 bar; pressures more than the the
maximum allowable pressure of 8 bar will increase the load on your riveter and shorten
its life. Use a compressor with an air volume of at least 200 L/min to power your air
hydraulic riveter.
Always use air hoses with an inner diameter of at least 9 mm. When adjusting the air
pressure, keep in mind that the pressure will fall by around 0.6 bar at a hose length of 10
m and inner diameter of 9 mm.
Maintenance and care
Conscientious lubrication and care are essential towards ensuring proper operation and
long life.
You will need a clean air supply to operate a pneumatic tool. Corrosion residues, dust
and dirt from the air supply line will affect performance and cause technical problems. A
lubricating unit with a filter, reducing valve and oiler connected between the air supply
and riveter will remove moisture and dirt from the air, regulate operating pressure and
ensure optimal tool lubrication.
Clean your device with a damp cloth if necessary.
Do not use chemical cleaning agents that contain strong organic solvents such as spirits,
thinners or similar, as they may damage the plastic.
Do not let liquids into the tool or immerse the tool in liquid. Water in the air supply may
cause damage to the tool. Drain any water from your compressor or pneumatic system
on a regular basis.
Clean the air filter in your pneumatic system at least once a week.
