Switching On and Off
Selecting a Digital Input
Digital Screen Displays
Make sure your power amplifier/s are switched off.
Bring the unit out of Standby:
To set the 8000AP to Standby:
If the source is switched off or disconnected or has no
active audio:
Note:
Switch on all source units (and the TV monitor if used).
Connect the 8000AP to the mains power and switch on.
Switch the unit on via tye mains switch on the rear panel.
Press the key on
the handset or the front panel.
Now switch on the power amplifier.
Press the key on
the handset or the front pane
When switched out of Standby, the last input and volume level
used is re-selected. If the volume was set to a high level when
last used the unit will power on at a safe volume of -20dB.
There are three digital co-ax inputs and four
optical inputs
There are also two HDMI inputs
may be selected by pressing the appropriate
input keys on the remote handset or by pressing the
button on the front panel until the desired source is shown in
the display window.
The selected digital source is automatically connected to the
digital output ( ) socket.
‘Silent appears in the window.
When a detectable digital format is received by the 8000AP
the screen will display the input, the receiving format and the
number of channels received. Examples of typical screen
displays are given on Page12 and in the next column.
The Power LED illuminates, the display shows the Mode and
the software version. The 8000AP will then go into Standby.
The titles of the digital inputs are descriptors: the digital
co-axial inputs are identical as are the digital optical inputs
and the two HDMI inputs.
