PREFACE
A complete pair of devices consists of a transmitter TX and a receiver RX, each with one double parabolic
mirror.
During operation the transmitter sends two IR beams to two parabolic mirrors on the receiver. An alarm output
requires the sudden simultaneous break of both beams.

PLANNING
The following features are important when planning the installation:
?? Do not exceed the recommended transmission range.
?? Requires an unimpeded direct line of vision between transmitter and receiver.
?? The range is reduced in dense fog.
?? Optimally align the transmitter and receiver.
?? Install the devices and pillars on a solid surface.
?? Never expose the devices to the direct effects of dirty water.
?? Never expose the receiver to direct sunlight.
?? Use only shielded, twisted-paired cabling.
?? Provide a sufficient number of core leads and sufficient cable thickness.
?? Heating elements are required for outdoor use.
?? Note double exposure by mixed installation.
Examples of planning: Please request a copy of Warning Planning Instructions.
ASSEMBLY
Alarm
An alarm is set off when both beams are completely interrupted.
First alarm memory
It identifies the specific detector and records any alarms occurring during the current disarmed period.
Self- diagnostic test DQ
The device can detect when the IR beam intensity at the receiver is reduced, due to for example dense fog,
snow, a dirty lens or mechanical problems. The beam is then ignored in order to avoid signalling a false alarm.
The time interval to trigger this can be adjusted to 5 or 30 seconds. During this time the receiving amplitude
must be below a defined level. If this level is exceeded, even temporarily, the time restarts.
