pressure gauge (4). The reduction/filter combination also cleans air from oil and
water drops.
L and LM types:
In the connection box (9) at the motor, a thermal protection has been attached.
This device turns off the compressor automatically, to protect the motor from
overheating. By pressing the red reset button (10) at the bottom of the box after a
little time, the compressor is ready to function again (type LM 100-400 has the
thermal protection device on top of the motor).
KM types:
The 400 volts electric motor of your compressor is protected against overheating
by a combined switch + reset button (2). This device turns off the motor
automatically if the motor should get overloaded or if one phase should fall out. By
pressing the black reset button after a short time, the compressor will function
again. If repeating thermal failure should occur, see chapter 7.0 Possibilities of
failure.
5.2 OPERATING
Check if the pressure switch has been set off. Then connect the machine to
your electric circuit. Set the pressure switch to on. If the pressure in the air
tank is below the pressure to start the machine, the compressor automatically
will start until the pressure to stop the machine has been reached. If the
pressure is high enough, the compressor will not start but will remain stand-by
until pressure drops below the point to start the machine.
To accomplish a continuous working pressure, the machine is equipped with a
reduction valve. With this device, you can reduce the air tank pressure to any
desired working pressure. Therefore, pull the button out of the interlocking and
turn left for a lower pressure and right for a higher pressure. Of course, the
working pressure can never be higher than the air tank pressure.
Turning off your compressor, you should always first turn the pressure switch
off before you pull out the plug. This way the pressure switch relieves the air
from the internal air circuit, so that the compressor can run freely when it is to
be turned on again. This protects the motor from damage.
