7.2.6 WPS Setting
WPS staat voor Wi-Fi Protected Setup en kan de procedure van de draadloze versleuteling tussen
de MOBIELE-ROUTER en de draadloze netwerkkaart simplificeren. Als de draadloze netwerkkaart
ook de WPS-functie ondersteunt, kunnen gebruikers de WPS auto-encryption activeren, zodat de
procedure sneller verloopt.
WPS ondersteunt 2 modellen: PIN (Personal Information Number) en PBC (Push Button
Configuration). Deze modellen zijn goedgekeurd door de Wi-Fi Alliance.
PIN-model, waarin een PIN van een sticker of van een webinterface van het WPS-apparaat
genomen moet worden. De PIN moet vervolgens ingevuld worden in de AP of het cliënt
WPS-apparaat om te kunnen verbinden.
PBC-model, waarin gebruikers eenvoudigweg een knop in moeten drukken, ofwel een
daadwerkelijke knop of een virtuele, op beiden WPS-apparaten om te kunnen verbinden.
