Turning on the refrigeration system
IN DRIVE MODE:
WARNING:
Make certain that the Stand-By connection has been unplugged from the electri-
cal mains (220 V~).
- Start up the engine.
- If the control device is On (the temperature in the cell on the control display is shown in °C), the
refrigeration system automatically starts up.
- If the control device is Off (see System shutdown – the word “OFF” is shown on the control
panel display), turn on the instrument and start up the system by pressing "ON-OFF" .
IN STAND-BY MODE:
WARNING:
Before plugging the Stand-By device into the power supply (220 V~), make certain
that the vehicle engine is Off and that the on-board instrument panel is Off (key
removed).
- Plug the Stand-By device into the power supply (220 V~).
After having performed the above-mentioned system start-up procedure correctly, start up the en-
gine or turn on the STAND-BY device and the refrigeration unit compressor and electric fan will
cut in after a few seconds. This is indicated by special lights (see FIG. 3).
With the temperature inside the cell below 0°C, a “-” sign appears before the numbers on the left-
hand side of the display.
Locking and unlocking the keys
You can lock the control device by pressing the keys simultaneously; that is, by pressing
them in a central position; the word “PoF” blinks on the display for a few seconds.
Now only the temperature inside the cell and the Set point can be viewed.
To unlock the keys, press the keys simultaneously once more and the word “Pon” blinks
on the display for a few seconds.
Setting the temperature in the refrigeration cell
The instrument provides a shortcut to access “Set Point” regulation (used to set the desired tem-
perature inside the refrigeration cell). It also has two Menus arranged on two levels and used to
display the programming parameters and their settings (see Accessing the Programming
Menu).
To display the “Set Point”, press the "SET" , key and release it immediately and the Set Point
is displayed in °C (setting for the desired temperature inside the refrigeration cell).
To modify the “Set Point” press the "SET" key and keep it pressed for 2 seconds.
The current setting appears and the compressor led starts blinking (see FIG. 3); pressing the "UP"
or "DOWN" keys lets you modify this parameter.
To save the new setting, press the "SET" , key once more or, to exit programming automat-
ically, wait at least 15 seconds before pressing any other key. The display with the new tempera-
ture “Set Point” blinks for a few seconds and then displays the current temperature inside the
cell.
Neutral Zone Operation
The neutral zone function makes it possible to keep the “Set Point” temperature stable inside the
refrigeration cell, automatically activating the cooling or heating cycles. The control device auto-
matically selects the needed function, allowing you to transport materials that must avoid exces-
sive cooling in the case of cold climates. The function is enabled through the db parameter db
(n, y) (when db = y the function is on; when db = n the function is off) and with the “SUPER-HEAT-
ED GAS DEFROST” device must be installed on the “PORDOI” refrigeration system.
The cooling function is achieved by activating the compressor when the temperature is above the
“Set Point”. The compressor is automatically shut off when the “Set Point” has been reached.
The heating function is achieved by simultaneously activating both the compressor and the super-
heated defrost device when the temperature drops below the “Set Point”. The compressor and
the defrost device are automatically turned off when the “Set Point” is reached.
