c) Resistance measurement
ƽ
Make sure that all circuit parts, switches, components and any other test objects are
currentless and discharged.
Proceed as follows to measure the resistance:
- Select the measuring range on the rotary switch Ω.
- Connect the black measuring line with the COM socket (6) and
the red measuring line with the VΩ socket (7).
- Connect the two test prods with each other and wait until the
pointer has stabilised. A value of approx. 0 Ohm must be dis-
played. In case of a deviation, adjust the pointer to 0 Ohm using
the 0 Ohm calibration control (9). Always carry out this check
when changing the measuring range.
- Read off the measured value on the “Ω” scale. Multiply the dis-
played value by the measuring range to obtain the measuring result (e.g. 100Ω (display) x10kΩ
(measuring range) = 100 x 10 000 = 1MΩ (measuring result)).
- After measuring, put the rotary switch in the “OFF” position to turn off the multimeter.
d) DC measurement
ƽ
Do not exceed the permitted max. input values in the individual measuring ranges.
Current measurement is only admissible in circuits of up to 500 V.
Proceed as follows to measure direct currents of up to 10 A/DC:
- Select the measuring range 10A using the rotary switch.
- Connect the black measuring line with the COM socket (6) and
the red measuring line with the 10A socket (4).
- Now perform null balancing.
- Observe the correct polarity (red = + / black = -) and connect the
two test prods in series with the test object (battery, circuit, etc.).
- If the polarity is not correct, no value is displayed. The built-in pro-
tective diode prevents the measurement. Stop measuring and
measure again observing the right polarity.
- Read off the measured value on the “A” scale.
- After measuring, put the rotary switch in the “OFF” position to turn off the multimeter.
