c) Inserting and changing the batteries
Operation of the meter requires a 9 V block battery (e.g. 6F22 or same build). You need to insert a new, charged
battery before initial operation or when the battery change symbol appears on the display.
Proceed as follows to insert or change the batteries:
- Disconnect the connected measuring lines from the
measuring circuit and the meter. Switch off the DMM.
- Loosen the rear screws at the battery compartment (10)
with a matching Phillips screwdriver. Remove the battery
compartment from the device.
- Replace the at battery with a new one of the same type.
Place a new battery in the battery compartment, observ-
ing the correct polarity. The battery only ts the holder
in the correct polarity. Do not use any force for insertion.
Observe the polarity as indicated in the battery compart-
ment.
- Re-insert the battery compartment in the device.
- Close and screw shut the casing carefully again.
Never operate the meter when it is open. !DANGER TO LIFE!
Do not leave at batteries in the meter. Even batteries protected against leaking can corrode and
thus release chemicals which may be detrimental to your health or destroy the device.
Do not leave batteries lying around carelessly. They could be swallowed by children or pets. If
swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Remove the battery if the device is not used for extended periods of time to prevent leaking.
Leaking or damaged batteries may cause alkali burns if they come in contact with the skin. There-
fore, use suitable protective gloves.
Make sure that the batteries are not short-circuited. Do not throw batteries into the re.
Batteries must not be recharged or dismantled. There is a risk of re and explosion.
You can order suitable alkaline batteries stating the following item no.:
item no. 652509 (please order one).
Only use alkaline batteries, as they are powerful and have a long service life.
