The measuring time starts
after further 2 seconds. The
gas cylinder content can then
be read off from the display:
For example, for 11 kg con-
tents (gas cylinder full)
or for residual content 2.5 kg
(11 kg gas cylinder only
about 1/4 still filled)
The display will switch off
automatically after about
10 seconds.

Filling level
as percentage
In Percentage Mode, it is
possible to measure the con-
tents of almost all conventio-
nal commercial propane or
butane gas cylinders with fil-
ling weights of up to about
15 kg (which fit on the cylin-
der mount).
kg
kg
By contrast with the standard
measurement in kg, because
of the different cylinder sizes
it is not possible to make re-
course to preset values.
Accordingly, before starting
operation, a basic value of
100 % must be stored in the
memory for the gas cylinder
which is to be measured.
This is done as a rule with
the cylinder completely filled
(filled with butane or propane
depending on the design).
Place the full gas cylinder on
the cylinder mount (make
sure the contact surfaces
are clean!) and secure it as
specified.
Note: To determine a basic
value (100 %), the cylinder
concerned must be more
than half filled, as otherwise
the contents cannot be deter-
mined, and the display will
show:

Measurement
To switch the device on,
press button „A“ once,
briefly.
The device will carry out a
brief self-test. The measuring
mode set at that particular
time will then be displayed.
The measuring mode can be
changed as appropriate by
pressing button „B“ and kee-
ping it pressed down until the
Percentage display shows:
After a further 2 seconds, the
device will start carrying out
the basic measurement, and
the contents of the gas cylin-
der at that particular moment
will be shown on the display,
flashing, as 100 %.
Now confirm this value
(100 % flashing) by pressing

buttons „Aand „B“ simulta-
neously, until the display stops
flashing (about 2 seconds).
The device will then carry out
another short measurement,
and the display will show:
After some gas has been
withdrawn, Sonatic L will
then show the cylinder con-
tent at that time as a percen-
tage, in relation to the first
measurement. If the cylinder
content falls below 10 %, the
display will also flash, signal-
ling that the reserve range
has been reached (display in
5 % increments).
Note: When the device is
switched off, the basic value
set in each case will be retai-
ned. If you leave Measure-
ment Mode, however, a new
basic value must be set.
